1976

Jim started working there in his spare time and, ultimately in 1976, decided to buy it.

1982

In an agreement with Jahn that would later be sharply contested, Granville Semmes and David Snow formed a Louisiana corporation that began to use that number to sell flowers in Louisiana, starting in 1982.

1987

Using his real estate and stock market assets&mdash well as mortgaging his home (several times)--McCann acquired 1-800-FLOWERS in 1987.

1992

In 1992, 1-800-FLOWERS launched its first online store site on CompuServe's Electronic Mall.

1993

While FTD's service lost approximately $13 million during this time, 1-800-FLOWERS had achieved $100 million in annual sales by 1993.

1994

In 1994, the company bought Conroy's Flowers.

1995

In August 1995, 1-800-FLOWERS established a toll-free telephone number for its customers around the world.

Sales for the 1995-96 Christmas season broke records for the company.

1997

The florist also redesigned its award-winning web site, the fifth revision of the site in three years, to facilitate holiday shopping in November 1997.

December 1997 sales through the Internet reached a record-setting $4 million, about ten percent of the company's total holiday sales.

1998

In 1998 1-800-FLOWERS also added a new management level.

2000

2000’s – 1-800-FLOWERS.COM, Inc. begins to expand product offerings to fulfill more of its customers gifting needs

2006

In May 2006, Alpine Confections Inc. brands including Fannie May Confections, Fannie Farmer and Harry London Candies were purchased for $85 million.

2007

In September 2007, it announced a partnership with Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia to produce a line of floral products inspired by Martha Stewart.

2008

According to the Consumerist in 2008, customers have reported unknowingly being subscribed to LiveWell after receiving rebate checks from 1-800-Flowers.

It had 4000 employees as of 2008, with a market cap of US$119 million.

2009

In 2009, revenue was US$714 million.

2010

2010’s – The company continues its history of innovation, offering customers a seamless shopping experience across multiple digital and voice platforms

2015

In 2015, the McCann family founded Smile Farms Inc., a non-profit organization, which provides meaningful jobs in agricultural settings to young adults and adults with developmental disabilities.

2017

In March 2017, Fannie May and Harry London were sold to Ferrero SpA for $115 million.
