Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Hospice RN for a 12-week travel assignment in Creve Coeur, Missouri. Summary:
A Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) provides compassionate end-of-life care to patients in their homes or hospice settings, focusing on comfort, pain management, and emotional support. Hospice RNs assess patient needs, coordinate care plans, and educate families to ensure patients experience dignity and peace in their final stages. They collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide holistic care while upholding hospice philosophy and regulatory standards.
Essential Work Functions:
Assess patient needs and develop individualized hospice care plans in collaboration with physicians and care teams
Administer pain management interventions, medications, and treatments to ensure patient comfort
Educate and support families and caregivers, helping them understand symptom management and end-of-life care
Monitor changes in patient condition, adjusting interventions to maintain quality of life
Coordinate care with hospice physicians, social workers, chaplains, and other team members to provide holistic support
Document all care provided, symptom changes, and family interactions accurately and in compliance with hospice regulations
Ensure adherence to hospice best practices, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements
Offer emotional and psychological support to both patients and their loved ones during the end-of-life journey
Communicate regularly with the hospice care team to ensure continuous, compassionate care
Complete charting and documentation requirements while meeting visit and productivity goals
Adhere to infection control, safety, and healthcare regulations
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills:
Critical thinking, service excellence, and good interpersonal communication skills
The ability to read, write, and communicate in the English language
Ability to read/comprehend written instructions, follow verbal instructions, and proficiency in PC skills
Physical Abilities - Must be able to remain in a stationary position, move about, move equipment (50-100lbs), push, pull, and bend
Interpersonal Skills - Must be able to work effectively with a variety of personnel (professional and ancillary) to present a positive attitude and professionalism
Technical/Motor Skills - Must have the ability to grasp, perform fine manipulation, push/pull, and move about when assisting with procedures and/or using department equipment
Mental Requirements - Must be able to cope with frequent contact with the general public and customers while meeting deadlines under pressure. Must be able to work under close supervision occasionally, as well as working without assistance from other personnel. Must be able to contend with irregular activity schedules occasionally and continuous concentration to detail
Sensory - Must possess visual acuity and ability to effectively communicate

Work in a 38-bay PACU unit within a large Level I Trauma and Magnet Teaching Hospital
Patient population includes adults, occasional adolescents, and geriatrics recovering from diverse surgeries excluding open heart and liver transplants
Care for post-op cases such as neurosurgery, ENT, orthopedics, thoracic, vascular, trauma, and transplant
4x10 hour shifts, Monday through Friday with rotating start times as needed
No weekend or call requirements
Floating may occur within PACU or PreOp units as needed
Uses EPIC charting system; EPIC experience preferred
Unit staffed 24/7 with dedicated PCT/transport team
Recover a diverse array of acute post-op patients including complex trauma and surgical cases
No responsibility for recovery of open heart or liver transplant patients
Must wear navy blue scrubs
Must pass fit testing; facial hair must allow for proper testing or shaving may be required
Maximum of 7 days RTO per 13-week contract, with no RTO during the first week of assignment
Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler to this health system
Standard travelers may stay up to 18 months with a required 3-month break afterwards

Requirements

Schedule is 4x10 hour shifts Monday through Friday, 12:00-22:30 with rotating start times; 3x12s (10:00-22:00) possible at the manager's discretion
No weekends, no call, and no holiday shifts required
Floating within scope to meet facility needs is expected
EPIC is used for charting; EPIC experience may be required for certain units
Navy blue scrubs are required
Responsible for recovery and acute care of complex post-op patients, including those with artificial airways and invasive monitoring
Support from dedicated PCT and transport teams

Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) night shift position requiring at least 2 years of critical care experience and an active MO or compact RN license.
Responsibilities
Position is in the Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) of an acute care hospital
Care for cardio-thoracic surgery, open heart, TAVR, post cath lab, and post cardiac surgery patients with telemetry
Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30
ICU nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1; Telemetry nurse-to-patient ratio is 2:1
Required to work 6 weekend shifts during a 6-week period, every other weekend
No on-call responsibilities
May float to other cardiac units within the service line as needed
Charting is done using EPIC
Navy scrubs are required
Manage care for post-op cardiac and cardiothoracic surgery patients requiring telemetry and close hemodynamic monitoring
Must be trained in caring for TAVR, post-cath lab, and other cardiac surgery cases
Travelers are required to work assigned holidays as necessary
Team-based environment with support from experienced cardiac care staff
Candidates must complete required modules prior to starting, with compensation for up to 16 hours
Requirements
Active MO or compact RN license required; pending license accepted for consideration
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
At least 2 years of recent CVU or critical care nursing experience required
Experience in hemodynamics and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips required
Experience with cardiac assistive machines and EPIC charting is preferred
Permanent employees must wait 1 year before returning as a traveler
Candidates must reside more than 75 miles from the facility
No first-time travelers will be considered
No more than 7 days of requested time off for the entire 13-week contract
No time off will be granted the first week of orientation
