About the Role:
This position uses scientific expertise, knowledge, and networks to develop the 22 boards within the umbrella of the product, Current Protocols (CP) to represent Wiley to the relevant scientific community. This role is specifically focused on driving growth for CP. The first six months of this role will involve maintaining the journal for the subscription market and driving submissions through the 22 separate editorial boards. This position gives someone the opportunity to shape a product for future success.
The EiC would help develop a strategy to collaborate with corporate sales and maximize the sales opportunity in the lab market as well as brand expansion for basic research advertising and sponsorships within the cell and molecular biology areas. The role also requires an ability to develop a refer and transfer network that generates additional protocols and / or methods papers. Ideally this candidate would develop a strategy to increase the output to 3x its current format to thrive in the OA landscape as well as broaden the scope to attract more protocols. The EiC would have a close working relationship with a publisher in Portfolio Development so that they have time to explore the growth opportunities in addition to keeping the boards running.

Job Description
We have an opening for a current graduate student to engage in an in-person, 6-month long research experience related to the Pandora Small Satellite mission. Pandora will collect visible and near infrared observations of a sample of nearby exoplanets and will study both the planet atmosphere and the host star variability using long time baseline observations. The Pandora mission is funded by the NASA Pioneers program and is a collaboration between NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, NASA Ames Research Center, and a host of other research and university institutions.
This opportunity comes with a significant time allocation on LLNL's world-leading high-performance computing platforms so is particularly well suited for a student with interests in compute-intensive modelling and simulation projects. There will be also opportunities to directly interface with the Pandora engineering team based at LLNL and the potential to work on science projects closely related to instrumentation.
The graduate student will work under the supervision of an LLNL scientist within the Pandora collaboration on a project related to Pandora core science or auxiliary science. The specific project topic is flexible and can be designed to align with the student's research interests and PhD thesis project. This position is in the Astronomy & Astrophysics Analytics Group within the Physics Division.

Job Description
We have an opening for an Accelerator Physics Postdoctoral Researcher in the National Security Engineering Division (NSED) within the Engineering Directorate. You will work on modeling and performing experiments for accelerators, plasmas, pulsed power, and other technically challenging problems. You will assist in the creation of innovative solutions for multiple programs at LLNL and contribute to the research and development of next-generation platforms. This position is in Accelerator Operations Group in the National Security Engineering Division (NSED), within the Engineering Directorate. This group is engaged in several projects, including Advanced Sources and Detectors (ASD) Scorpius-the National Nuclear Security Administration's (NNSA) new flagship radiography machine currently under construction-solid-state bipolar pulsed power, plasma pinches, and multiphysics code development. The team is integrated across the laboratory, providing expert input on high-impact facilities such as the National Ignition Facility (NIF) and the Flash X-Ray (FXR) facility, as well as similar facilities at other laboratories. By leveraging new technologies and pioneering innovative techniques that promise to be disruptive in the field, the group is seeking a post-doctoral physicist or engineer to complement and enhance its current capabilities.
This position offers a hybrid schedule, blending in-person and virtual presence. You will have the flexibility to work from home 1 to 2 days per week.
In this role, you will
Conduct fundamental research, design, implementation, and analysis in one or more of the following areas: pulsed power, accelerator physics, accelerator diagnostics and experiments, z-pinch plasma diagnostics and experiments, simulations of experiments.
Organize, analyze, and present data from research.
Contribute to the conception, design, and execution of research to address scientific and technical problems.
Conduct independent research interests and interact with a broad spectrum of scientists internally and externally to the Laboratory.
Collaborate with others in a multidisciplinary team environment to accomplish research goals.

Qualifications

Job Description
We have multiple openings for undergraduate students to engage in practical research experience to further their educational goals. Job Description
We have an opening for a current graduate student to engage in an in-person, 6-month long research experience related to the Pandora Small Satellite mission. Pandora will collect visible and near infrared observations of a sample of nearby exoplanets and will study both the planet atmosphere and the host star variability using long time baseline observations. The Pandora mission is funded by the NASA Pioneers program and is a collaboration between NASA Goddard Space Flight Center, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory, NASA Ames Research Center, and a host of other research and university institutions.
This opportunity comes with a significant time allocation on LLNL's world-leading high-performance computing platforms so is particularly well suited for a student with interests in compute-intensive modelling and simulation projects. There will be also opportunities to directly interface with the Pandora engineering team based at LLNL and the potential to work on science projects closely related to instrumentation.
The graduate student will work under the supervision of an LLNL scientist within the Pandora collaboration on a project related to Pandora core science or auxiliary science. The specific project topic is flexible and can be designed to align with the student's research interests and PhD thesis project. This position is in the Astronomy & Astrophysics Analytics Group within the Physics Division.

We have multiple openings for Design Physics - Postdoctoral Researchers. We invite PhD graduates from a variety of STEM fields (including, but not limited to, the various physics disciplines, engineering, experimental science, computational physics, planetary science, chemistry, or material science) to apply for one of our Postdoctoral Research Fellowships. We will work with successful candidates to tailor a postdoctoral project and select a mentor to support each individual's development. We have multiple openings for undergraduate students to engage in practical research experience in quantum information science to further their educational goals. Opportunities include participation in projects lead by the LLNL scientists in this research area, including: Superconducting Qubits; Quantum Sensing; Ion Trap Design and Testing; Optical Entangled Sources; and Noise Characterization. The Livermore Center for Quantum Science is a virtual department at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory that connects the researchers and resources that comprise LLNL's vibrant quantum information science community with worldwide experts. Summer positions are three-month appointments in the May-September timeframe with the possibility of extension. Applications are due on January 11, 2026.

You will
Learn how scientists perform research in quantum computing and/or quantum sensing using experimental, theoretical and computational tools.
Meet Livermore scientists who do active work related to quantum information science.
Gather and analyze data or information relevant to your assigned research area as directed by supervisor and/or mentor to advance your education.
Gain hands-on experience in your assigned research area by using various simulation, data analysis or experimental techniques under close supervision.
Present your work through presentations and/or poster sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be eligible to access the Laboratory in compliance with Section 3112 of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). See Additional Information section below for details.
Must be a continuing student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing an undergraduate degree in Physics, Engineering or related field.
Ability to apply basic physics principles to solve technical problems.
Demonstrated effective communication skills.
Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
Experience working with personal computers and familiarity with Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Qualifications We Desire
GPA of 3.0 or above.
Experience with basic programming, such as python, C++, Julia or Labview
Previous experience working in an experimental laboratory environment or on a research project

Job Description

Opportunities include participation in projects lead by LLNL scientists in the research areas including: Applied Physics (Optical and X-Ray Imaging, Astrophysics and Planetary Science (laboratory-based and observational), Space Science Vehicles & Sensors); Condensed Matter Physics (Theory, Modeling & Simulation, Experimental Static & Dynamic High Pressure Physics, Quantum Computing & Sensing); High Energy Density Physics (Experimental Laser and Magnetically-driven compression, Theory, Modeling and Simulation of HED states); and Plasma and Fusion Energy Science (Fusion Energy Modeling & Simulation, Tokamak development experiments & diagnostics, Applications of Plasma Science). These positions are in the Physics Division of the Physical & Life Sciences Directorate.
Winter/Spring internships start late 2025 through April 2026.

You will
Work with scientists conducting research in experiments, theory or modeling simulation, and materials modelling.
Conduct research in assigned areas under close direction and supervision.
Perform scientific assignments at an appropriate level complexity and work collaboratively on scientific research and development projects.
Analyze results and provide weekly updates.
Present work through presentations and/or poster sessions.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Must be a continuing student in good standing at an accredited institution pursuing a bachelor's degree in a field of science, engineering, or an equivalent.
Demonstrated academic achievement in Physics or related field.

Ability to present and communicate concepts and ideas.
Knowledge in Materials Science/Physics/Applied Mathematics/Applied Sciences.
Familiarity with modern computer-based data analysis approaches, summarizing and presenting results.
Ability to work in a team environment.
