What We're Looking For: 2U is seeking a transformational Director to lead the vision, development, and continuous evolution of our Customer Data Platform (CDP) - the central engine powering the teams responsible for driving revenue and growth. Reporting into the Marketing Technology Product organization, this leader will play a pivotal role in shaping how 2U connects data, technology, marketing strategy, and customer insights to create a truly customer-centric product experience and cohesive multi-channel engagement strategy. We are looking for an ambitious, outcomes-driven leader who can turn complex data ecosystems into competitive advantage - accelerating our ability to deliver personalized, consistent, and high-impact interactions across every digital and ecommerce touchpoint. This role is not only about managing systems, but about driving measurable business results, influencing strategy, and enabling the next generation of data-powered marketing at scale. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Provide strategic leadership and senior level oversight to drive development of our CDP capabilities, based on the needs of our internal customers and the expectations of our learners around the use of data for experience personalization Contribute to the creation of robust segmentation and testing strategies aimed at personalizing the customer experience (revenue teams such as marketplace and marketing will own the customer journey and segmentation criteria) Partner with engineering, data science, marketing, product, and other cross-functional teams to define data structures, general product requirements and user acceptance testing models for customer data models and CDP functionality Ensure that business goals and objectives surrounding CDP are met and allow the organization to leverage powerful insights that drive strategic decision-making for our customer data strategies Own the customer data platform and be an evangelist for its value proposition, including promoting new features, being the SME for CDP best practices, providing documentation for end users, and solving for the normalization of customer data across multiple, siloed lines of businesses. Understand privacy regulations like GDPR and CCPA and work with our privacy, engineering, and security teams to ensure consent and permissions are updated and upheld when needed Things That Should Be In Your Background: Bachelor's degree required, Master's degree preferred Minimum 8-10 years industry experience in a product management or marketing technology Minimum 8-10 years experience with customer data platforms (CDPs) and best practices. Twilio Engage (formerly Segment Personas) and/or Salesforce CDP preferred. This role serves as a subject-matter expert on U.S. GAAP, complex transactions, and equity accounting, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely reporting. The Director will work cross-functionally with Finance, Legal, HR, and external advisors to support strategic initiatives, ongoing reporting, and compliance in a dynamic private company environment. Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To: Financial Reporting & Technical Accounting: Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow, statement of stockholders' equity, and accompanying disclosures. Ensure accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of consolidated financial results in accordance with U.S. GAAP. Coordinate closely with Finance to align financial reporting with internal management reporting and Board deliverables. Support the preparation of debt compliance reporting, including covenant calculations, lender deliverables, and certifications in coordination with Treasury and Legal. Serve as a key liaison with external auditors to support the Company's accounting positions and annual audits, ensuring audit readiness and timely resolution of technical matters. Monitor new FASB pronouncements for applicability. Take a leading role in the implementation of major new accounting standards. Assist and contribute to the development of existing accounting policies, procedures and methodologies, with a focus on process improvement. Clearly articulate and educate team members in finance and other departments with respect to the impact of adopted accounting policies, new standards and other technical matters. Concisely and thoroughly summarize and present accounting conclusions to the accounting group and senior management. Be responsible for special projects and other departmental duties as necessary. Equity Administration: Oversee all aspects of the company's equity programs. Support Legal and HR in plan design, modifications, and updates to plan documents. Review valuation models for equity instruments. Manage day-to-day operations related to equity grants, exercises, cancellations, and settlements in partnership with HR, Payroll, and Legal. Ensure integrity of data in the equity administration platform and reconcile with the general ledger. Lead stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718, including forecasting, journal entries, and financial statement disclosures. Provide analytics and reporting on equity compensation, dilution, and plan utilization for management and the Board. Things That Should Be In Your Background: Bachelor's degree in accounting required. Active CPA license required. Experience performing technical accounting research and applying guidance to transactions. Experience writing technical accounting memoranda/position papers. 8+ years of accounting experience required (Big 4/public accounting background preferred). Proven experience preparing and reviewing GAAP financial statements. Possess deep and broad U.S. GAAP knowledge base. Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills. Tech-savvy and experience using all MS Office applications; strong knowledge of Excel required. Experience with Workday (or similar ERP system) and Workiva preferred. The role will be based out of our Arlington, VA office, with regular in-office presence expected five days per week. Concisely and thoroughly summarize and present accounting conclusions to the accounting group and senior management. Be responsible for special projects and other departmental duties as necessary. Equity Administration: Oversee all aspects of the company's equity programs. Support Legal and HR in plan design, modifications, and updates to plan documents. Review valuation models for equity instruments. Manage day-to-day operations related to equity grants, exercises, cancellations, and settlements in partnership with HR, Payroll, and Legal. Ensure integrity of data in the equity administration platform and reconcile with the general ledger. Lead stock-based compensation accounting under ASC 718, including forecasting, journal entries, and financial statement disclosures. Provide analytics and reporting on equity compensation, dilution, and plan utilization for management and the Board. This role is instrumental in ensuring members of the building management team are responsive to tenants and ownership. Job Responsibilities: Tenant Relations: Promote rapport with tenants, visitors and building staff through professional, courteous, and helpful engagement Draft necessary letters, memos, and other communication for Property Management approval Ensure overall high-quality customer service for tenants, including work orders and tenant requests: ensure tenant problems and concerns have been addressed by other members of the team in a timely and satisfactory manner. Help coordinate building events as required (I.e., Fire drills, tenant appreciation, holiday lunches ect.) Assist in all general office duties involved in maintaining service to the tenants and ownership Administration: Assist property management team with preparation of monthly client reports Update spreadsheets regarding certificates of insurance for tenants, vendors and contractors, track expiration dates and coverage for all. Maintain and update emergency and tenant contact lists Ensure proper multi-tenant floor signage for all building common areas Manage inventory of office supplies- order building and office supplies as needed. Program building access cards Maintain lease, vendor and building files. Create new files as needed. Open, stamp, distribute mail General Accounting: Prepare weekly Cash Flow Report, in addition to monthly closing reports for accounts payable and accounts receivable Code invoices, setup vendors in Yardi payable systems Deposit, track and enter rent payments (Skyline) Resolve vendor calls or issues regarding payment of invoice Mail out checks to vendors for payment as needed Job Qualifications: At least two years of relevant experience. Two to four year degree preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PPT, Word and Outlook) Detail oriented, strong interpersonal, organizational, and typing skills Understanding of basic accounting preferred Ability to multi-task, prioritize and be self sufficient Must be customer orientated, professional and courteous with an excellent phone etiquette This position is 100% in-office. The role requires working in office during standard business hours. Remote work or telecommuting is not an option for this position.
