Technical Artist Responsibilities:
1. Design and develop systems, processes, tooling to validate, prototype, and implement new capabilities in partnership with cross functional teams
2. Implement runtime logic, tooling within a complex real-time environment with performance limitations in mind
3. Optimize content through enhancing performance and instructing the artists and designers on asset creation, modeling and texturing best practices
4. Analyze project timelines and resource allocation, proposing adjustments to optimize production schedules through technology and process enhancements
5. Document workflows, standards, and best practices to ensure consistency and scalability across teams
6. Communicate and advocate for the technical system's role in building a platform that serves billions of users
7. Consistently give and take constructive feedback, direct next steps, and communicate clear goals and outcomes to your team

8. 6+ years of experience developing real-time experiences across different products
9. Experience in at least one low-level programming language (i.e. C++)
10. Understanding of architecture for complex tools and pipelines with a focus on content creators
11. Expertise with game/real-time profiling and optimization techniques
12. Demonstrated experience in communicating technical topics to non technical partners
13. Understanding of AI and ML concepts at a core level. (data collection, model training, deployment, runtime performance)

We are searching for part time faculty and music instructors proficient in Applied Harp Instruction.
Part-time faculty members are paid on a credit-hour basis based on prior teaching experience. Applied music lessons are compensation based on student enrollment: $60 per week lesson over 12 weeks for undergrad = $720 per student. Graduate applied music lessons are $70 per week over 12 weeks = $840 per student. In addition, USM employees can use their USM Card to access the library, Cigna Employee Assistance Plan, and fitness center(s). Role
We are looking for a Technical Artist to join our internal game studio at Voodoo, working on Paper.io 2. As part of a small, agile team, you will bridge the gap between art and engineering, helping to optimize workflows, enhance visual quality, and ensure smooth performance across mobile platforms. Your work will directly impact the player experience in our high-performing genre-defining casual game.
* Optimize game assets, shaders, and rendering pipelines for smooth performance on mobile devices.
* Develop tools and scripts in Unity to streamline the workflow for artists and developers.
* Work closely with game designers, artists, and developers to bring creative visions to life while maintaining technical efficiency.
* Create and implement particle systems, shaders, and lighting techniques to enhance the game's visual appeal.
* Ensure asset optimization (compression, polygon count, texture sizes) & optimal import into Unity without sacrificing quality.
* Debug and troubleshoot graphical and performance issues on different mobile devices.
* Stay up to date with the latest trends and best practices in mobile game art and Unity development.
Profile
* Experience: 5+ years as a Technical Artist in the mobile gaming industry
* Strong Unity expertise, including shader development (Shader Graph/HLSL), particle systems, and rendering optimization
* Proficiency in C# scripting for automating processes and enhancing tools
* Understanding of mobile game constraints (performance, memory, draw calls, batching)
* Experience with lighting, VFX, post-processing, and GPU profiling
* Knowledge of 3D modeling , texturing workflows (Photoshop, Substance and experience with Maya, including MEL scripting and tooling)
* Ability to debug and optimize art assets and rendering issues.
