What You'll Do
* Act as the primary point of contact for strategic partners and key customers; establishing standard processes, driving adoption of Substance 3D, addressing technical issues and workflow questions, and collecting product feedback.
* Expand usage of Adobe's 3D tool portfolio through custom trainings, workshops, and events.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams (Product Owners, Managers, Developers, Designers) to help shape features, define use cases, and integrate real-world partner feedback.

What You Need to Succeed
* Highly skilled in Adobe Substance 3D tools (Painter, Designer, Sampler, Stager, Viewer).
* Proficiency with top DCC software (e.g., 3DS Max, Maya, Blender) or product design tools (Alias, Rhino, Solidworks, Keyshot) and/or apparel (Clo/Marvelous Designer, Browzwear) and/or footwear (Modo, Rhino).
* Experience scripting in Python to automate 3D workflows, develop tools, or streamline production pipelines.
* Familiarity with design pipelines across various industries.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several U.S. geographic markets, and we pay differently based on those defined markets. The U.S. pay range for this position is $108,300 -- $190,400 annually. Pay within this range varies by work location and may also depend on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Reality Labs Research is dedicated to developing technology that can transfer physical objects from the real world into the digital realm, including detecting, tracking, and 3D reconstructing physical objects for use in contextual AI and robotics simulations. As a technical 3D artist on the team, you will play multiple roles, contributing to the creation and refinement of digital twin 3D models to achieve photorealistic results. You will also support and develop tools and plugins to drive forward innovative research projects. We seek a candidate with both strong 3D modeling expertise and technical skills in tool development.
Responsibilities
* Collaborate with Meta's operations team to assess the quality of 3D models produced by the team's internal 3D scanning machine, focusing on the accuracy of 3D geometry and the correctness of PBR materials.
* Refine and correct imperfections in scanned 3D models using DCC software such as Blender to ensure they accurately match their physical counterparts.
* Develop and maintain efficient art pipelines and tools to streamline the 3D art production and scanning throughput
* Create post-processing tools for tasks such as decimation, UV generation, and texture decompression to aid in 3D model processing and performance optimization
* Collaborate with the operations, artist, and research teams to achieve the overarching goal of generating large-scale digital twin 3D models.
* Partner with the research team to explore innovative approaches, including procedural content generation, inverse rendering, articulated object generation, and digital human modeling.
* Utilize Meta's internal tools, such as cloud services, storage, and databases, to enhance daily operations.
Qualifications
* Strong 3D Modeling Skills: Expertise in industry-standard 3D modeling software and 2D texturing software, with a preference for Blender and Substance Painter.
* Proven Track Record: Demonstrated experience through a 3D artist work portfolio. (Preferable to be attached with resume)
* 3D Rendering Knowledge: Understanding of PBR materials and lighting, with proficiency in creating shading and geometry node graphs in Blender.
