Job Title: Grade 5 Math with Rotating Science and Social Studies Units
Employment Status : Full Time, Exempt
Reports to: Upper Elementary School Principal
Start Date: August 2023, Following School Calendar
Job Summary: Looking for a highly relational 5th grade teacher. This person will be teaching a section of Honors Math, Standard Math, and rotating units in Science and Social Studies. Provide students with engaging learning activities and experiences designed to fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement plans for the curriculum program assigned
- Prepare lessons that reflect accommodation for individual student differences
- Plan and use appropriate instructional/learning strategies, activities, materials, and equipment that reflect accommodation for individual needs of students assigned
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with families through positive and ongoing communication throughout the year
- Use current best practice approaches with students
- Use technologies in the teaching/learning process
- Consistently assess student achievement through formal and informal testing
- Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school
- Create a classroom environment conducive to learning
- Maintain a professional relationship with all colleagues, students, parents, and community members
- Participate in the building staff development program
- Demonstrate behavior that is professional, ethical, and responsible
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees as required
- Any other assignment deemed appropriate by the building principal
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's degree with a concentration in mathematics
- Current Ohio teaching license
- Highly engaging, enthusiastic educator, who is creative, motivational, and willing to build strong relationships with students and their families
- Strong math background, with the ability and desire to prepare and teach rotating science and social studies units
- Ability to instruct students and possessing classroom management skills
- Strong communications, public relations, and interpersonal skills
- Able to integrate faith and learning
- Must be a committed Christian, comfortable working in a multi-denominational, Christian community
