Program Overview:
A. Duie Pyle's Leadership Development Program (LDP) is an accelerated training program designed to prepare and develop future leaders. LDP will take you on a six month progression where you will learn about operations, project implementation, brokerage, finance and other areas of our business while developing a strong understanding of the transportation industry.
Your career will begin at the closest Pyle terminal to your home. Here, you will learn about freight handling and our LTL, less-than-truckload, business. Over the course of the next six months, you will gain valuable hands on experience working various shifts on our dock and riding along in our trucks. You will learn how our operation works both during the day and at night. Additionally, you'll spend time in our corporate office engaging with and learning from our senior leadership.
Nearing the completion of the program, you'll receive your placement within our Pyle network and following successful completion you'll put your new acquired skills to work.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Shadowing Pyle leaders to develop leadership skills through on-the-job experiences, project assignments and formal training
Understanding “teamwork” - learning how all team members and roles impacts the operation
Participating in classroom style learning to develop industry and company knowledge, and develop professional relationships with high level leadership
Performing several different positions and working on various shifts to gain hands-on experience
To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:
Prior work experience, preferably in a supply chain, logistics, transportation or similar field; combination of part-time work, internship, and or co-op in any field or industry will be considered
Associates or Bachelor's Degree (any major) preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
Excellent Communication - both written and verbal
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment
Willingness to relocate within the Pyle network upon program completion
Possess a positive, can-do attitude

* Coordinate and/or delegate the work of local operations in the areas of: Pickup and delivery operations, dock operations, linehaul cut-times, claims prevention, determination of amount of daily manpower hours and staffing, equipment maintenance and safety both on the dock and on the street. Plan, direct and control operations in line with our intent of always servicing the customer first while adhering to the Ward culture beliefs.
* Attain operational goals in the areas of overall driver and dock performance, missed pickups, on-time service, paid overtime hours, weight and inspection goals, and safety and operations audits score. Work with audit results to ensure the service center is in compliance with both safety standards and operations standards. Empower, support, and hold management team accountable to achieve company goals.
* Analyze all KPI data from prior day/week and identify opportunities to maximize control of service center costs to keep them within plan, including risk minimization for the company in all areas such as claims and safety.
* Enforce all safety items pertaining to company policy and audit compliance: yellow vests, safety shoes, seatbelts, no hoods/phones/earpieces/headphones on the dock or in the yard, arms, legs, head, and feet in forklift driving area only, etc.
* Effectively navigate all necessary software (including but not limited to the AS400 system and Maven), to monitor and manage routes planned for the day. Ensure all freight is out for delivery according to service standards and customer requirements.
* Regularly monitor email inboxes to ensure prompt responses to inquiries/messages pertaining to customer service and operational needs.
* Assist service center office staff with customer service phone calls regarding scheduling appointment freight, tracing, customer problem resolution, etc. Assist OS&D associates in resolving any outstanding issues with distressed freight. Ensure all applicable policies and procedures are followed daily.
* Support the Sales team's efforts in effectively adhering to customer needs while still staying profitable for the company..
* Attend monthly P&L meetings with SCM and director as required.
* Work closely with Human Resources Department to ensure compliance with company policy, and external regulations for all employees at the SC, by recognizing good performance and holding them accountable for poor performance.
* Ensure all aspects of the business are satisfied when Service Center Manager is out of office or not present. Work closely with Service Center Manager (or Director of Operations if applicable) to ensure that all outstanding tasks are completed in a timely manner.
* Understand Ward's SC audit and take direct action and responsibility for its adherence to its guidelines.
Job Requirements:
REQUIREMENTS:
* Three to five years working experience in the motor carrier industry preferred, including knowledge of operations, clerical procedures, and DOT and HAZMAT regulations. Must have a thorough understanding of customer service and a desire to support Ward's cultural beliefs.
* Must have proven track record of effective supervision performance and be willing to achieve service excellence through accountability and execution. Must possess strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to foster open, honest two-way communication both internally and externally.

To be successful in this role you will need to have the following:
Possess 3 - 5 years of experience in Class 8 truck repairs including electronic diesel engine repair and air brake systems
High School Diploma or equivalent
Excellent working knowledge of all heavy-duty truck and material handling equipment systems with proven diagnostic / troubleshooting skills set
Valid driver's license (CDL) preferred
Proven interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with shop technicians and Operations Management
Excellent record-keeping and organizational skills
Ability to work all shifts as necessary

Dockworker qualifications:

Program Overview:
A. Duie Pyle's Leadership Development Program (LDP) is an accelerated training program designed to prepare and develop future leaders. LDP will take you on a six month progression where you will learn about operations, project implementation, brokerage, finance and other areas of our business while developing a strong understanding of the transportation industry.
Your career will begin at the closest Pyle terminal to your home. Here, you will learn about freight handling and our LTL, less-than-truckload, business. Over the course of the next six months, you will gain valuable hands on experience working various shifts on our dock and riding along in our trucks. You will learn how our operation works both during the day and at night. Additionally, you'll spend time in our corporate office engaging with and learning from our senior leadership.
Nearing the completion of the program, you'll receive your placement within our Pyle network and following successful completion you'll put your new acquired skills to work.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
Shadowing Pyle leaders to develop leadership skills through on-the-job experiences, project assignments and formal training
Understanding “teamwork” - learning how all team members and roles impacts the operation
Participating in classroom style learning to develop industry and company knowledge, and develop professional relationships with high level leadership
Performing several different positions and working on various shifts to gain hands-on experience
To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:
Prior work experience, preferably in a supply chain, logistics, transportation or similar field; combination of part-time work, internship, and or co-op in any field or industry will be considered
Associates or Bachelor's Degree (any major) preferred; High School Diploma or GED required
Excellent Communication - both written and verbal
Ability to work in a fast paced, deadline oriented environment

Field Trainer, Diagnostic Support Specialist

Position Summary:
As a Field Trainer, Support Specialist you will be required to travel throughout our Fleet Maintenance Facilities, located in the Northeast, and perform hands on, remote and guided diagnostic training to help support our shops excel. Additionally, you will be tasked with providing training on all facets of equipment, administration duties, new hires employee training and supporting the technician team with complex diagnostic repairs.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:
* Travelling to outlying Fleet Maintenance Facilities providing maintenance support and required training
* Conducting and surveying training sessions to ensure material retention needs are met
* Creating metrics to measure how the training is retained, utilized and the impact of it
* Providing New Hire training on policies, procedures and fleet maintenance software
* Reviewing daily OOS for complex issues and provides technical assistance
* Reviewing monthly progress on all apprentices and performs final skills test prior to graduation
* Assisting with shop vacancies, perform special assignments and provides operations supports
To be qualified for this position, you must possess the following:
* Strong knowledge of class 8 tractor and trailer maintenance and DOT/OSHA guidelines
* Must have 5 plus years of maintenance experience in a fleet maintenance environment
* Must have a compliment of tools required to perform most Class 8 repairs
* Strong computer skills and proficient in: heavy-duty diagnostic software, Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
* 70% travel time on the road visiting various shops
* Strong written and oral communication skills
* CDL/State Inspection a plus
