To join our team as a Regional CDL-A TruckDriver, you must meet the following minimum qualifications:
At least 21 years of age
A minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the last 3 years
A valid Class A CDL
Willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement within 90-days of hire
No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
No DUI or DWI convictions within the past 5 years
No license suspensions or revocations due to moving violations within the last 5 years
No serious traffic violations in the past 12 months (including speeding 15+ mph over the limit, following too closely, improper passing, or a fatal CMV-related offense)
No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
No preventable DOT-recordable accidents in the past 3 years
Essential Job Functions:
Our drivers are expected to perform the following physical and operational tasks as part of the role:
Open and close trailer doors (requires up to 46 lbs of force)
Hook and unhook trailers (requires up to 90 lbs of force)
Load, unload, or shift freight as needed (requires up to 54 lbs of force)
Perform accurate freight counts and complete fuel tickets
Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance

P&D Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers and our customers.
Perform pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer that is being utilized
Properly document all freight control processes
Read and understand maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazardous materials markings and labeling identifications
Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary
Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
Assist customers in preparation of shipping papers
Interact and converse with external/internal customers

Job Summary

Primary Responsibilities
+ Operate vehicle safely within DOT regulations that govern safe driving, hours of service, inspection, maintenance, and transportation of hazardous materials.
+ Meet or exceed the medical standards of the U.S. Dept. of Transportation and satisfactorily pass a drug test and alcohol test.
+ Load and unload freight on trailers using a motorized forklift, pallet jack or manually in compliance with state and federal DOT guidelines. Use various loading techniques, such as loading tight or cross loading.
+ Transport self and/or freight continuously throughout the service center on non-forgiving surfaces.
+ Utilize Dock Yard Management System to consistently monitor freight shipment locations throughout the service center.
+ Read and interpret shipping labels. Familiarity with, and in some cases ability to complete the various forms utilized in freight movement such as shipping orders, city stripping manifests, freight bills, overage/damage movement reports and exception forms.
+ Hand load, rewrap or stack freight as necessary.
+ Insure the quality loading of all trailers.

At least 21 years of age
A minimum of 1 year of verifiable tractor-trailer experience within the last 3 years
A valid Class A CDL
Willingness to obtain a Hazmat endorsement within 90-days of hire
No convictions for reckless driving within the past 5 years
No DUI or DWI convictions within the past 5 years
No license suspensions or revocations due to moving violations within the last 5 years
No serious traffic violations in the past 12 months (including speeding 15+ mph over the limit, following too closely, improper passing, or a fatal CMV-related offense)
No more than 3 moving violations in the past 3 years
No preventable DOT-recordable accidents in the past 3 years
Essential Job Functions:
Our drivers are expected to perform the following physical and operational tasks as part of the role:
Open and close trailer doors (requires up to 46 lbs of force)
Hook and unhook trailers (requires up to 90 lbs of force)
Load, unload, or shift freight as needed (requires up to 54 lbs of force)
Perform accurate freight counts and complete fuel tickets
Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure safety and compliance
Enter and exit commercial vehicles and trailers (from ground level)
Drive for extended periods and sit upright for long durations
Maintain regular and predictable attendance

Responsibilities
P&D Drivers are responsible for transporting, loading and unloading freight in a productive, safe and claims-free manner between our Service Centers and our customers.
Perform pre and post trip inspections on the tractor and trailer that is being utilized
Properly document all freight control processes
Read and understand maps, road signs, shipping papers, hazardous materials markings and labeling identifications
Affix correct placards to tractor/trailer when necessary
Maintain cleanliness of company vehicle
Assist customers in preparation of shipping papers
Interact and converse with external/internal customers
Safely operate a forklift to unload/ load products when indicated and needed
Participate in Dayton Freight's training and improvement programs
Be available for irregular work schedules, alternating work shifts and/or assignments
