McCain Foods is accepting applications for a Production Utility Operator position, to work a 12-hour day shift at the Burley, Idaho plant. Responsible for performing all equipment operator functions in the absence of regular operator(s). When operator functions are not required, incumbent is responsible for insuring all assigned factory equipment and work areas are continuously clean and sanitary. What you'll be doing. * Understand the principles and techniques of the quality management process and integrate these techniques into every aspect of the job. * Understand GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) and integrate these concepts into all aspects of the job * Incumbent will be required to perform as a relief operator in positions determined by supervision. Sensory Management * Responsibility for managing plant sensory programs and ensuring leadership of daily quality panels. * Responsible for the screening and selecting sensory panelists and maintaining an adequate number of panelists continuously. * Oversee and conducts frequent new and refresher trainings to include the validation and calibration of panelist. * Implement and maintain an incentives program to ensure panelist motivation and attendance * Responsible for the selection and maintaining of all gold standards and references used for product evaluation and panel maintenance. * Proactively drive for action and improvement by communicating panel findings in a timely fashion * Actively partner with the Regional Sensory Quality Lead and plant quality teams to continuously improve plant sensory programs and ensure the quality and integrity of McCain products. * Trend internal sensory results regularly as well as cross reference to external consumer and customer related complaints. Certification exams will be taken after some of the training. * Requires considerable care to avoid moderate to major damage to equipment, moderate damage of product and serious injury to self and others. * Must have own tools to perform mechanical/electrical maintenance tasks safely (Company will provide tools for equipment inspection tasks). * Requires a professional certification from an accredited body of knowledge, or previous experience and demonstrated competency.
