Position Responsibilities:

Use of tooling assemblies and fixtures for depot level modification and repair of structural parts.

PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Sheet Metal Mechanic troubleshoots malfunctions, repairs, and modifies aircraft structures and structural components. This worker reads and interprets technical maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical orders, blueprints, sketches, engineering data and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctions or damaged components.
This individual will repair, replace, and rebuild damage to aircraft structures or sheet metal systems, such as wings and fuselage and functional components including rigging and surface controls, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, rivet guns and drills. All work is subject to Government Quality Assurance (QA) review in process and upon completion for compliance with requirements, instructions, specifications, shop practices and procedures.
