Candidates will also receive GEN FAM training, GMM and on-the-job experience. The goal of this apprenticeship is a future position as a QC Inspector. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Only perform those duties for which they have been properly trained. Maintain personal tools in a condition that will not compromise the condition of the product being maintained. Replace simple items such as, batteries, filters and similar accessories, using basic mechanic hand tools. Remove / install inspection plates, cowling, engine covers, floor boards, and related items. Technician helper for 2 person tasks. Clean aircraft interior and exterior. Basic aircraft interior maintenance work such as: hydro lock changes, window shades, cabin trim, carpet changes, lamp replacement (for reading, galley, lavatory, ceiling, and cove lights) Lube tasks (gear, wing, and tail lubes) General utility work including: staging and servicing hydraulic/oil carts, swapping out nitrogen bottles. Required to make entries electronically through the program MIS. + \#LI-MZ1 Qualifications: **Required** + High School diploma or GED. + Federal Aviation Administration issue Mechanic certificate with both Airframe and Powerplant ratings or acceptable Host Nation equivalency. + Ability to communicate effectively with team members and various levels of leadership in both written and oral form. + Ability to read and comprehend maintenance manuals and technical data in English. + CMF 15 aviation MOS series or another military or commercial equivalent to the DHC-8. + Minimum of eight (8) years prior experience maintaining specific assigned aircraft. + 8 years direct experience in aircraft maintenance, civilian or military. + Must have exercised the privilege of their Airframe and Powerplant License for a minimum of 6 months of the previous 24 months. + Must have previous experience working phase or heavy maintenance on assigned aircraft: DHC-8 + Experience with working from blueprint drawings, diagram, specifications, service manuals, sketches, templates, and other incomplete data. + Ability to sit, stoop, bend, crawl, crouch, and climb to repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft. + Ability to obtain and maintain d U.S. Security Clearance or MRPT. **Preferred:** + Strong Electrical and Avionics background. **Compensation and Benefits:** + Hourly Position. + 40-hour work schedule. + Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision coverage. + Generous paid time off program. + 401(k) retirement plan with company match + Professional development and career advancement opportunities AAR is committed to building a diverse and inclusive workforce.
