Autism Spectrum Interventions is currently hiring for a part-time Behavior Technician to help children with autism improve their skills and reach their full potentials. This ABA therapy position earns a competitive wage of $17.00 - $22.00/hour .

DAY-TO-DAY

Available to work Monday-Friday: 2 PM-8 PM

As an entry-level ABA Technician, you play a direct role in helping children with autism develop their skills and reach their full potential. You collaborate with the client's parents and other personnel to develop individualized behavior intervention plans that best suit the client's needs. While implementing these plans, you diligently collect and record data concerning their target behaviors. You regularly meet with supervisors and attend team meetings to discuss the client's progress and update their goals accordingly.

Whether you are working in the home, at school, or in the community, you approach every ABA therapy session with patience and a positive attitude. You are always prepared to safely intervene with a client's undesirable behaviors, such as mouthing items, running away from the session, and engaging in self-harming actions. Creatively, you create new stimuli for the program, whether to make the session more engaging or to offer a new type of reinforcer for the client. You are a caring person who feels fulfilled by helping children with autism reach their targets and increase their skills!

REQUIREMENTS FOR AN ENTRY-LEVEL ABA TECHNICIAN

• 18+ years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to pass minimum competency training
• Ability to pass a livescan fingerprint check upon hire

Job Description

• Implementing individualized applied behavior programming under the direction of a BCBA, including direct 1:1 ABA therapy
• Uses the basic principles of applied behavior analysis ABA such as: reinforcement, prompting, and shaping techniques
• Teaching ABA, social, and daily living skills
• Effectively responding to and minimizing difficult or disruptive behaviors
• Creating a fun, motivating experience to generate the highest level of performance for every individual
• Collecting data on ABA programming targets and utilizing an online system to enter, track, and view progress
• Providing support to parents, teachers, and caregivers to make the most of their efforts in making our programs universal across all areas of the child's environment
• Implement programs designed by BCBA

Position Requirements:

• Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis field (preferred)
• Experience working with children, especially those with autism using ABA methodologies (preferred)
• Candidates must be energetic, animated, and outgoing, with a passion for helping children achieve their true potential.

*Under supervision of the assigned Site Coordinator/Site Manager, the Licensed Clinical Social Worker provides mental health assessment and counseling services to a diverse patient population as an independent practitioner. Job Roles
*Completes all required documentation accurately, in a timely manner, and thoroughly in accordance with department standards; in addition, documentation complies with patients' insurance requirements.
*Performs initial and on-going assessments for assigned patients. Participates in development of patients' individualized care plans, in a timely and thorough manner.
*Performs other duties as assigned.
*Provides treatment to assigned patients within scope of practice, meeting program/department productivity and quality standards. Demonstrates awareness of transference and counter-transference issues and addresses them as they arise. Addresses co-occurring disorders, factoring them into patient's treatment plan. Demonstrates clinical skills and judgment necessary to implement the treatment plan.
*Works effectively as a member of the multi-disciplinary treatment team. Communicates with providers, physicians, case managers, scheduling staff, referring providers, and with outside agencies and authorities, in a timely and appropriate manner. Connects patients to internal/external resources as appropriate; accurately documents referrals.

Education/Certifications/Licenses/Registrations
*Ability and means to travel as needed in a timely manner within San Diego County.
*Current California clinical licensure (LCSW).
*Experience in providing counseling services to varying population groups; expertise in partner violence treatment preferred; comfort in school-based or other non-traditional settings preferred.
*Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW).

Experience/Specialized skills (including Language)
*Ability to maintain good interpersonal interactions with clients and co-workers as a member of a multi-disciplinary community health team with a diverse multi-cultural population.
*Ability to provide support, structure, empathy, sound judgment, and insight into human behavior and family relations.
*Ability to work well in both a team-based environment and independently.
*Basic computer literacy ability to comply with department needs and expectations (i.e., electronic medical record documentation, obtaining background information and reports on patients, following up on appts, etc.).
*Bilingual in Spanish/English preferred.
*Clinical skills appropriate to scope of practice and clinical judgment necessary to implement the treatment plan.
*Demonstrated ability to be culturally sensitive and respect diversity.
*Good written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with patients and family members who speak English as a second language.
*Knowledge of behavior modification theories.
*Knowledge of current counseling theories and best practices, and ability to translate best practices into meaningful, culturally appropriate resources.
