The Quality Technician tests and inspects power distribution components and equipment in an engineered-to-order (ETO) manufacturing facility. In this role you will perform electrical testing, mechanical checking, and cosmetic inspection of a variety of complex switchboard and switchgear products ranging from 480v-38kv. Candidates will be required to analyze, diagnose, and troubleshoot complicated control systems, ground fault schemes, circuit breakers, and relays. Create test reports and maintain accurate records in compliance with UL and ISO requirements. Duties/Responsibilities: Test and inspect electrical wiring systems for switchgear, UPS systems, panelboards, switches, transformers, and control devices. Perform live electrical testing including but not limited to Hipot testing, contact resistance and insulation testing. Perform mechanical inspections of complex power distribution equipment. Ensure compliance with UL, ANSI, and ISO standards. Perform cosmetic inspections of complete assemblies including painted and plated metal surfaces. Provide quality feedback to production/assembly and engineering teams. Support quality actions and initiatives within the operation, including but not limited to: Root cause analysis, non-compliance reviews, quality documentation, process reviews. Collect and compile statistical quality data. Ensure compliance in safety and quality procedures. Required Skills/Abilities: Ability to read and interpret drawings, specifications, and complex wiring diagrams. Ability to troubleshoot devices electrically and mechanically. Working knowledge of general purpose test equipment. Knowledge of power distribution equipment and testing practices. Ability to use common mechanic and wiring tools. Position Overview: Novelis in Ashville, OH has an opportunity to participate in our on-site summer 2026 internship. The team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer intern that can join the team for approximately 12 weeks. The person in this role will have the opportunity to participate in meaningful work and gain hands on industry experience. The person in this role will report to the Associate EMRA Leader and will gain experience in Electrical Engineering. Responsibilities: Assist with project scope, goals, and deliverables that support Rolled Products objectives in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders. Provide support for various Mechanical Engineering Projects. Provide quality and timely technical support, communication, and advice to operating personnel concerning the design, maintenance of equipment, and procurement of critical spare parts with assigned projects or as part of process improvement tasks. Troubleshoot a variety of industrial manufacturing equipment including aluminum rolling lines, mobile equipment, and furnaces. Work under the supervision of staff engineers on control plans, system testing, and machine commissioning. Minimum Qualifications: Enrolled in an accredited 4-year University. Must be a Sophomore, Junior, Senior, or recent Graduate. Interested in gaining hands-on industry experience prior to graduation. The Production Training Specialist is responsible for developing, delivering, and maintaining training programs that ensure production employees have the knowledge and skills to perform their roles safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company standards. This role partners closely with operations leadership to identify training needs, create instructional materials, and support continuous improvement initiatives. Key Responsibilities Design and implement training programs for new hires and existing production staff. Conduct hands-on training on equipment, processes, and safety protocols. Develop and maintain training documentation, SOPs, and visual aids. Assess employee competency and provide feedback to supervisors. Collaborate with Quality, Safety, and Engineering teams to ensure training aligns with regulatory and company standards. Track and report training completion and effectiveness using appropriate systems. Support onboarding and cross-training initiatives to build workforce flexibility. Identify opportunities for process improvement and contribute to best practices. Who will you report to? You will report to the Manufacturing Supervisor. This role is an onsite position. You are required to report to the West Chester, OH facility 5 days a week. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. 2+ years of experience in manufacturing or production environment, electrical background is a plus Previous experience in training or instructional roles strongly preferred. Experience in cooling industry or data centers is a plus Strong communication and presentation skills. Ability to create clear and engaging training materials.
