What You'll Work On
Represent Abbott's Core Diagnostics to its customers:
Responsible for providing on-site support to Core Lab customers.
Support field personnel and District business objectives and goals.
Provide direction and develop mentoring skills to mentor other FSRs.
Troubleshooting and resolving complaints reported by customers on a minimum of five increasingly complex instruments as detailed in the Field Service Business Process database.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Respond to machine breakdowns due to electrical malfunctions or hardware/software failure
Conduct preventative maintenance tasks for all electrical equipment and instruments
Draft calibration and preventative maintenance procedures for new and existing instruments
Install and troubleshoot new and modified equipment
Conduct project work/electrical upgrades and monitor contractor project work and upgrades
Monitor and repair facility and emergency system electrical failures
Follow calibration procedures to calibrate all the instruments in the plant calibration program
Work well with minimal supervision
Follow all plant and department procedures, GMPs, JSAs and general plant safety rules
Keep all work areas clean and neat
Lead other employees and provide OJT for people new to the department; and record and communicate shift activity in an organized manner
Be certified for lockout/tag out and confined space entry procedures
Provide support to primary plant operations
Total plant equipment coverage includes {but is not limited to): packaging lines, processing, filling, warehouse, and facilities where necessary
Assignments include: responding to equipment emergencies; troubleshooting system input/outputs and multiple sensing devices; communicating routinely with line personnel and supervision to maintain knowledge of the latest production schedule; communicating potential equipment problems to production and maintenance supervisors to allow scheduling of repairs; looking for and implementing equipment and outputs; and finding analog control values in the PLC logic programming
Responsible for calibrating, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining the electrical equipment and instruments of the Columbus
Accurately complete calibration records in compliance with all corporate, state, and federal regulations
Responsible for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the quality system
SHIFT
12-Hour rotating Night Shift, 6p-6:30am
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or GED minimum
Experience calibrating temperature probes, pressure transmitters/probes (emerson), conductivity probes
Understand electricity and electrical theory, possess a working knowledge of computers, computer operating systems, electrical and pneumatic components and devices, and the ability to work safely in electrical panels with up to 480 volts
Read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams, follow diagnostic and repair procedures from instrument equipment manuals on a wide variety of equipment requires training and experience in electrical theory, electronics, plant systems, equipment and procedures
Attention to detail and the ability to complete required documentation in a neat and accurate manner
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree in Electronics, Electrical Engineering or related education and experience
Experience with PLC's and integration, electronic, hydraulic, and pneumatic instrumentation and control devices

Must keep equipment running in a good state of repair to meet production and quality standards.

Must provide coverage for others who are absent.
Helps operators run equipment and provide assistance during operators' break times.
Must actively participate and lead teams, including but not limited to: scheduling, process improvement, safety, and continuous improvement.
Must work safely, handle chemicals properly and ensure the safety of work mates.
Expected to comply with other requests made by management.

Position Summary:
Using hand tools and test equipment, the individual will perform maintenance on both electronic and mechanical equipment, such as industrial controls, computers, and servo-mechanisms, following blueprints and manufacturer's specifications. Performs duties within cGMPs for Medical Devices, maintaining change control, notifying QA/RA and engineering where necessary and makes adjustments only within documented and validated limits. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Duties/Responsibilities:
Perform troubleshooting, diasnose causes and repair equipment.
Perform preventative maintenance (PM's) on equipment.
Maintain parts inventory.
Support engineering projects-ordering and installation of new equipment, new equipment IQ's.
Continuous Improvement projects to reduce expenses, improve reliability, and reduce waste.
Test electronic circuits to locate defects and understand the use of oscilloscopes, signal generators, amp meters, and voltmeters.
Install, modify and understand control panel wiring. Work closely with the Controls group to understand and modify PLC programs and maintain PLC ladder logic programs.
Train operators and assist with machine set-ups/operation as required.
Work with central crib to maintain an inventory of spare parts, both fabricated and commercial. Perform troubleshooting and repair of pneumatic and mechanical systems.
Propose design changes and review with engineer to upgrade equipment, eliminate re-occurring problems, improve product quality, reduce costs, etc.
Duties may require correction of problems during off shifts on a call-up basis. Work closely with tool room to make timely repairs. Work schedules may fluctuate due to product and process start up or machine issues, as well as training of new associates on the off shifts. Must be flexible and willing to work overtime when needed.

Programs, tests, and inspects all video integration sources according to design specifications and in accordance with quality and safety standards.
Performs all functional and quality checks of installable equipment and documents appropriately prior to project sign-off.
Able to troubleshoot and determine root cause of failures of installable equipment. Performs diagnoses and repairs of equipment according to established quality guidelines and procedures. Tests equipment to ensure proper operation and quality output.

Position Summary:
Reporting to the Planned Maintenance (PM) Leader, this role will be responsible for maintaining equipment through performing regular PM tasks, maintain inventory levels of spare parts, and other maintenance activities as required according to the equipment maintenance plan. Will assist manufacturing unit team with production maintenance issues as necessary and mentor the technical staff in best methods of troubleshooting and operational repair techniques. This role must be willing to adjust work schedule as needed to perform essential PM activities and maximize equipment availability. Ensures compliance with BD quality systems, policies, procedures and best practices, and all local, state, federal, and BD safety regulations, policies and procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Support with the organization of inventory and ordering of spare parts and other applicable materials required to complete maintenance tasks for planned maintenance periods and equipment rebuild program.
Maintain equipment by coordinating and performing PM activities, ensuring activities are completed on-time and executed according to the plan.
Work closely with Maintenance Planner to ensure maintenance tasks are well documented.
Conduct regular maintenance audits of equipment, identifying potential continuous improvement opportunities to improve PM program effectiveness.
Required to work during plant shut down periods to perform maintenance activities.

Provide technical Level I and Level II phone and on-site support to proactively maintain product performance or resolve customer complaints for hardware; software; and reagent issues. Level I support is defined to a specific set of error codes that could be repaired in less than1.5 hrs. Level II support is defined as any error code excluding Level I that would be resolved in more than 1.5 hrs.
Perform proactive service support activities to maintain system performance. Apply standard troubleshooting tools or concepts to identify the real issue and its root cause.
Determine level of urgency of service support requests; develop recommendations and implement solutions that reflect customer and Abbott business need.
Record accurate and timely documentation of customer complaints and the action taken to resolve the concern.
Plan and prioritize customer visits and activities to do in each account.
Prepare; schedule; and execute training events with customers to improve customer self-sufficiency by developing the customer's ability to troubleshoot/repair analyzers and increase knowledge of component replacement and assays.
Coordinate order, delivery, and billing of products and/or services in assigned accounts. Monitor inventory and replenish accordingly.
Responsible for Service Contract Sales at assigned accounts.
Partner with Enterprise Account Manager and/or Sales Executive to develop account-specific lab strategy and execution throughout commercial cycle and participate in customer business reviews.
Understand competitive landscape of assigned accounts or territory and leverage it to maximize business opportunities. Develop/preserve strong relationships to gain meaningful insights that will allow for value expansion opportunities. Responsible for achieving revenue generation goals in assigned accounts.

What You'll Work On
Mechanical and machine component repair, mechanical fluid and utility systems troubleshooting; machine modifications and improvements; fabrication, machining, welding, installation or rearrangement of new or existing equipment; and total plant and facility maintenance.
Use of precision tools and equipment to complete mechanical maintenance jobs.
Follow all plant and department procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), Quality and general plant safety rules.
Lead other employees including directing one or two other maintenance personnel on a job; filling in for the Crew leader as needed; and providing OJT for people new to the department.
Record and communicate shift activity in an organized manner.
Audit equipment and develop replacement part documents.
Be certified for tank entry and lockout/tag out and confined space entry procedures.
Provide support to primary plant operations. Total plant equipment coverage includes, but is not limited to: packaging lines, processing, drying, filling, HVAC, warehouse, Agglomerator, backflow preventers, seamers, pumps, and cafeteria. Assignments include: responding to equipment emergencies, performing mechanical PMs during operation or during periods of scheduled downtime; equipment lubrication; design and fabrication of mechanical items in response to customers' work order requests; communicating routinely with line personnel and supervision to maintain knowledge of the latest production schedule; communicating potential equipment problems to production and maintenance supervisors to allow scheduling of repairs; and looking for and implementing equipment and system improvements.
Perform mechanical repairs to production equipment and plant utility systems. This involves troubleshooting complex, high-speed filling and packaging machines; making machine adjustments to liquid line and powder seamers; timing mechanical systems such as rotary sterilizers or tray wrappers for proper operation; cutting of metal with a plasma cutter or torch; machining of parts on the lathe or mill for replacement or repair or worn parts.
You'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures.
Shift:
This is a night shift position working 6:30 pm to 6:30 am on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule offering every other weekend off.

WEEK 1:
WORK: Monday, Tuesday, Friday, Saturday & Sunday
DAYS OFF: Wednesday AND Thursday.
WEEK 2:
WORK: Wednesday & Thursday
DAYS OFF: Monday, Tuesday AND Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Required Qualifications
High School Diploma/GED
3+ years of experience as an industrial or commercial Mechanic or the equivalent job experience or training
Understanding of mechanical system, mechanical and spatial aptitude is necessary for this position
Good mathematical and written skills
Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation, then make the necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operation
Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and fluid systems including knowledge of proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease
Attention to detail, good communication skills, and follow-up are very important in this position
