* The Academic Tutor is responsible for providing academic assistance to assigned students in group or individual sessions.
* These sessions are designed to provide advise on ways students can approach or solve a coursework problem; to demonstrate to students study techniques and test preparation that may improve grades.
* The Tutor serves as a motivator and mentor.
* This position:
* Establish liaison with the teacher and work under the teacher's direction to assist students
* Help students develop the study skills necessary for academic success by providing study skills (i.e time management, note-taking, textbook reading, test-tak9ing, workshops when appropriate)

* Assist students with homework completion and/or other school subjects.
* Tutor to student ratio may fluctuate to meet program need.
* Meet with Regional Supervisor in person on a biweekly basis to turn in all required paperwork and timesheet.
* Complete required paperwork promptly and accurately (Tutoring Attendance Logs, Enrollment forms, Assessments, Timesheets, etc.)
* Meet all program deadlines.
* Follow up with Regional Supervisors via e-mail and/or phone on a weekly possibly daily basis
* Develop strategies to build the necessary skill sets for student academic success.
* Provide a structured, organized and safe learning environment to participants.
* Prepare engaging and effective lesson plans and provide high quality tutoring in math and/or language arts.
* Maintain a professional relationship with caregivers, students and other community members.
* Effectively communicate with caregivers to set up tutoring sessions, address issues and concerns, review student progress and explain overall program.
