Reasonable hours of operation, accommodating for handicapped persons, non discriminatory, decent pay for positions, benefits are just ok
Will ignore your hours of availability, no overtime, Lack of communication within management, will constantly have you perform tasks beyond the scope of your position without offering more pay, accepting doctors excuses and the like is up to managements discretion, too much push for credit card applications and customer surveys
They have DailyPay
Lol...oh you're serious?
Get rid of the childish and broken attendance point system. When management controls the points it's as of they're never late but God forbid you get sick because odds are they're not going to file or maybe even take a doctor's excuse even if you had to stay in the hospital.
Shower, shave, put on nice clean clothes and make myself presentable, and have a good meal beforehand
It seems to be just a little better than others in the area
Not bad but could be better
Helping people find what they need for their next outdoor adventure! Honestly I love it! Being an outdoors person myself, I love being able to pass on a little knowledge and a helping hand! Now get outside!
I thought the pros of working at Academy Sports + Outdoors were the flexible hours. I am a Christian, so I need Sundays off. They've given me every Sunday off, and if they accidentally schedule me, they will change it if I remind them.
In my experience working at Academy Sports + Outdoors, some of the cons would be the management. The only bad thing I'd have to say is almost every manager I've worked for had only stayed for about 2-3 months, then quit. We would then have to bring other managers from within the other district stores to our store for help. And with every new manager comes a different management type. Some are rude, some are nice, and some are very strict.
My favorite perk would be the work flexibility.
It is a good place to grow your experience in the working field. It was my first serious job, and I learned a lot from the management and experience of being there.
The employees sometimes don't take their job seriously, and there can be a lot of drama. Also, it can get busy at the store, which is stressful.
As long as you are dependable and you communicate with them, they respect your requests for time off.
