The complete collection of medication information may also include contacting pharmacies, long-term care facilities, and prescribers.
Additionally, the Medication History Pharmacy Technician works under the supervision of the pharmacist following established policy and procedures set forth by the hospital and pharmacy department. This role meets the requirements of being a qualified pharmacy technician as established by the State Board of Pharmacy and holds a Certified Pharmacy Technician license from a State Board of Pharmacy accredited agency. The technician adheres to safety practices to ensure quality care for patients and maintains competencies outlined in pharmacy department policies. The technician shows familiarity with pharmacy practice settings, legal requirements and limitations, prescription information and calculations, drug identification and generic equivalents, drug manufacturing, packaging and labeling information, and proper drug handling and storage practices.

About the Role:
We are looking for an energetic and dependable sterile compounding pharmacy technician. As part of the pharmacy team , you will use your knowledge of USP 797 to compound medications that are safe and effective for patients, under Pharmacist supervision.
This role is based onsite at our New Albany, Ohio facility. We are currently hiring for the following day shift.
6:00 AM-6:00 PM on a rotating 3-2-2-3 schedule
You Will:
Adhere to the safety and environment procures as outlined in the Site SOPs and wear appropriate PPE while executing daily tasks.
Compound sterile medications.
Perform the component preparation, the formulation of the solutions, perform the aseptic filling of the solutions and/or inspection and packaging of filled units
Perform daily, weekly and monthly responsibilities according to facility SOP's.
Perform daily, weekly and monthly cleanroom suite support responsibilities including, but not limited to compounding materials and supplies preparation, equipment calibration, cleaning, dishwashing, and sterilization or depyrogenation of equipment, according to facility SOP's.
Document compounding-related and daily, weekly, and monthly activities according to facility SOPs and as required by USP 797.
Communicate with pharmacists and report on issues in the lab.
Utilizes equipment as instructed by the pharmacist.
Completes training as required by USP 797
You Have:
Current registration as a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the State of Ohio and National Certification (CPhT)
Strong communication skills and can work independently.
Full time role 40 hours per week.
Preferred Qualifications:
1+ year compounding experience (nonsterile or sterile)
Certified Compounded Sterile Preparation Technician (CSPT )

Conditions of Employment:
This position will require working with Hazardous Drugs (HD) and would require that Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) be worn for the length of working with these drugs. These items would include gloves, respiratory protection, gown and other items as required.
This position requires medical approval to wear respiratory protection in the form of negative or positive pressure respirators, including N95, full face respirator, SCBA, or Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
Physical exertion required. Including, but not limited to, walking up to 50% of the time, standing up to 100% of the time, squatting and bending up to 20% of the time and lifting up to 80% of the time for up to a twelve hour shift. Must be able to lift up to 50lbs.
Due to the risk of reproductive capability in handling or compounding certain Hazardous Drugs (HD) associates must be willing to confirm that they understand the potential risks (teratogenicity, carcinogenicity and reproductive effects) of handling hazardous drugs.

The Position:
The pharmacy technician provides clinical support services and sterile compounding of infusion therapies under the direction of a pharmacist, and in compliance with state board of pharmacy's sterile compounding and pharmacy practice regulations. The pharmacy technician prepares and provides clinical support services necessary for the dispensing of injectable and oral medications used to support our core business offerings. Responsibilities include:
Sterile preparation of IV / infused medications under the direction of the pharmacist and in compliance with current regulations and standards.
Demonstrates understanding of USP 797 standards, USP 800 standards, and current State Board of Pharmacy (BOP) regulations.
Maintains call and shipment schedules to ensure continuity of care for all patients.
Collects, documents, disseminates and coordinates customer communications, laboratory data and various clinical information with pharmacy, nursing and reimbursement staff.
Performs efficient data entry of pertinent patient and prescription information into company's pharmacy software system, as allowed by BOP regulations.
Performs all cleaning and maintenance of the pharmacy clean room in accordance with company policy and state BOP regulations.
Participates in company's quality assurance and performance improvement program.
Remains current with the BOP continuing education requirements, and completes Soleo's annual re-credentialing process.
Performs receiving and storage of medications and supplies from vendors.
Performs the picking/packaging of supplies and medications for shipment to the customer home.
Participates in regularly scheduled inventory counts and complies with Soleo's formulary management program.
Obtains additional state technical licensure/registration as requested to support the geographic service area of the branch.
Schedule:
Must be able to work Monday-Friday 9am-5:30pm, 40 hours per week
Must be a certified Pharmacy Technician in the state of Ohio
PTCB/NHA Certification preferred
Must have a minimum of 1 year IV compounding experience (in the work setting)
Prefer experience working with Specialty Infusion Pharmacy or in the hospital setting
Requirements:
High school diploma (or equivalent) required
Registered/Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT), or as required by the BOP
Minimum experience working as a technician in the pharmacy IV room of a hospital.
Prior technician experience with a home infusion company preferred
Current registration and ACPE requirements are met
Excellent customer service skills
Excellent sterile compounding technique
Basic to intermediate efficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook
