Qualifications * Knowledge would normally be acquired through a high school degree or equivalent program and satisfactory completion of 3 years as Grade B Electrician Maintenance Mechanic and 3 technical courses approved by management in a related field (2 courses in electrical/electronics) or have 5 years experience in the electrical/electronics field with some technical training. * Ability to read and apply content of work orders, operating manuals, and other related information in order to design, install, repair and maintain equipment in an acceptable manner. * Ability to read and interpret blue prints, mechanical drawings. * Ability to write to maintain supply inventory and to record work performed daily. * Ability to perform mathematics used to design, install, repair and maintain equipment in an acceptable manner. * Ability to independently complete tasks as assigned by others. * Ability to communicate to explain or interpret well-defined technical issues or procedures and discuss problems with factory and office personnel. * Ability to understand and interpret complex electrical schematics to solve technical problems. * Ability to solve complex problems to accomplish optimum efficiency, productivity and safety where many alternative solutions are available. * Ability to make decisions to install, maintain and repair electrical or mechanical equipment for optimum efficiency, productivity and safety. * Ability to use shop tools including machine tools, hand tools, welding equipment, electrical/electronic test equipment, lathe, shaper, milling machine, surface grinder, etc. * Knowledge of programmable controllers, micro processors, relay logic and related technologies.
