Account Management Representative Careers

An account management representative is a finance professional who manages accounts for customers, businesses and organizations, and works with sales, marketing, and other organizational teams to ensure that accounts are managed appropriately and efficiently. These individuals respond to inquiries, help troubleshoot issues, provide financial advice and resolve any accounting issues.

Account management representatives also conduct research and analysis to discover new markets and business opportunities for clients, offer suggestions in regards to products and services, and develop account management and sales strategies to boost efficiency and profitability.

Most account management representatives have a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field, and many have certification as a CPA (certified public accountant). These individuals should have extensive knowledge of accounting, finance, sales, and marketing, and be adept at researching emerging markets and sales opportunities. An account management representative should possess strong communication, analytical, organizational, and research skills, and should be comfortable working with financial computer software and databases. An account management representative can make up to $39,000 annually in the US, however, the career field is expected to decline slightly by 2% in the next 10 years.
