Job Description:

A day in the life of National Accounts Internship, an in-person or hybrid role at SpartanNash, is never the same. In this role, you will gain experience across many functions of the company.

What You'll Do
New business opportunities as well as key projects for process improvement & service level improvements for our top 2 customers.Responsible to complete or participate in at least one strategic project during the internship and give a short presentation to the executive team that showcases the project. Participate in learning opportunities that may include tours of our warehouses and retail stores, a community service event (such as SpartanNash Expo, Helping Hands, or Special Olympics) Attend workshops for developing skills, team building, etc.

Our Managed Transportation department is laser-focused on providing excellent customer service to our contracted accounts. As an Account Executive Intern, you will play an integral part in maintaining and growing positive client relationships by coordinating daily shipment requests through phone and email, confidently solving any issues that arise and proactively communicating issues or discrepancies. Ingredion is hiring a Summer Intern to support our Eastern Region and National Accounts team in the US/Canada region in new product development and creating customer valued solutions. The Summer Intern will be responsible for developing/preparing food formulations and prototypes for various customer and business initiatives on a pilot plant and lab bench top scale utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices. They will perform research related duties as needed or assigned, support internal and external customer request; execute on analytical testing as well as document and prepare technical reports with guidance from manager.

Managing work project(s) to meet project timelines and deliverables Analyzing and understanding data, results and scientific literature to advance projects Maintaining a clean, safe work environment. Follow established guidelines for good housekeeping, GMPs, SafeServ and safety Working collaboratively with Technical Service team members and other internal colleagues to meet target objectives Presenting prototypes, project status, updates and outcomes to team and key stakeholders Making presentations and writing technical reports Have a passion for food science and curiosity for learning Are ambitious, able to prioritize, well organized, good with time management and deadlines Motivated to demonstrate the capacity to learn, utilize, and strengthen understanding of the function of our products and how they interact with other ingredients in a range of applications Collaborate with direct Manager and Technical Service team members and other internal colleagues to meet target objectives
Minimum Requirements
Progress towards a Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Food or Chemical Engineering or a related field with a minimum GPA of at least 3.0/4.0 preferred Must have completed at least two years of coursework with status as a sophomore, junior or non-graduating senior.Ability to work 40hrs per week during the summer internship term Experience with hands-on food concept development with laboratory and/or pilot plant equipment is a plus Knowledge of common food processes, food ingredient functionality and ingredient interactions preferred Excellent organizational, communication skills Reliable transportation required to get to and from facility each work day Currently possess unrestricted authorization to work in the United StatesInnovative, self-motivated and high level of enthusiasm for the job Have a passion for food science and curiosity for learning Are ambitious, able to prioritize, well organized, detail oriented, good with time management and deadlines Are collaborative and can work well with others Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
