About the role
Anthropic is seeking an exceptional Head of Infrastructure Accounting to join our Corporate Accounting team. In this strategic leadership position, you will build and lead the infrastructure accounting function responsible for managing all aspects of infrastructure and data costs, including our recently announced $50bn investment in American computing infrastructure and our expansion to use one million Google TPUs. As we continue our rapid growth, you will ensure operational scalability and financial accuracy of the core functions that enable Anthropic's research and commercial success. Responsibilities
Hire and lead the team responsible for end-to-end accounting and reporting for AI infrastructure, including fixed assets, cost of revenue, and R&D Opex
Leverage technical accounting expertise to support the review of complex arrangements, including ASC 842 lease accounting for infrastructure
Partner with the business to design and implement Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) tool to automate the fixed asset process
Provide strategic insights to leadership on cost optimization opportunities and financial implications of infrastructure decisions
Own reporting requirements related to the infrastructure entities
Contribute and own the fixed asset policy for infrastructure assets including unit of account, useful life and other lifecycle events
Develop and implement a comprehensive framework for infrastructure cost accounting, ensuring proper classification between Cost of Revenue and Operating Expenses
Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting to support strategic decision-making by business leaders
Partner with technical teams to understand complex infrastructure requirements and translate them into financial terms
Collaborate cross-functionally to improve upstream data pipelines and enhance reporting capabilities
Design and scale systems and processes to support Anthropic's growing financial complexity

Have 15+ years of progressive experience in accounting, with operational experience at technology companies

The expected base compensation for this position is below. Our total compensation package for full-time employees includes equity, benefits, and may include incentive compensation.

About The Role
As the Manager of Revenue Accounting you will report to the Controller and play a key role within the Accounting organization. You will serve as the Company's revenue recognition subject matter expert and ensure that Kikoff's revenue and revenue‑adjacent reporting remains compliant with ASC 606, ASC310, and ASC326. Additionally, you will be responsible for overseeing revenue monthly close activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in revenue recognition principles, fintech experience, and the ability to collaborate strategically with cross‑functional teams to shape new product offerings, evaluate new growth campaigns, and function as a key point of contact for all revenue‑related considerations.
What You Will Do:
Develop, implement, and maintain revenue policies, procedures, and processes to ensure compliance with ASC 606 and ASC 310
Ensure the accurate recognition of all revenue streams including lending, credit card, and subscription services
Reconcile data between systems/sources identify discrepancies and collaborate with data and engineering to determine root causes and propose solutions
Ownership of the month‑end financial statement close process by preparing journal entries, balance sheet account reconciliations, and variance analysis
Work with external auditors during the annual financial audit, ensuring compliance with revenue accounting standards, AR balances, CECL requirements and commissions policies
Analyze and review contractual agreements to ensure proper revenue recognition and compliance with credit loss policies
Oversee the company's compliance with ASC 310 and ASC 326 CECL standards, ensuring that appropriate credit loss models are applied to the company's loan portfolios and other relevant assets
Research and review applicable sales tax calculations; review monthly sales tax filings
Partner across multiple cross‑functional teams as the leader for all revenue accounting related matters on new products, product feature updates, M&A and business development proposals
Critically analyze non‑recurring transactions by properly identifying the accounting implications of various explicit terms and implied nuances, applying appropriate accounting rules and literature and exercising judgment in subjective areas to draw reasonable and acceptable conclusions
About You:
A minimum of 3+ years of experience in revenue accounting and public accounting experience
1+ year of industry experience
Experience working in fintech, SaaS, financial services
CPA designation required
Experience with ETL tools and other data transformation tools (Alteryx, Metabase, Snowflake, etc.)
Demonstrated success in leading revenue accounting functions in a dynamic environment managing multiple and changing priorities with ability to understand issues, demonstrate resourcefulness, and proactively resolve problems
You're passionate about building systems and process improvements. You thrive in bringing process and organization to complex environments
You have implemented an ERP, revenue recognition or billing system
Ability to automate and simplify large datasets
Ability to lead projects independently

What You'll DoRevenue Recognition & Technical Accounting
Review customer contracts and order forms to determine appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606

Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting standards applicable to usage‑based software business, with the ability to navigate complex accounting issues and new guidance.
Advanced proficiency in Excel and data analysis tools, as well as hands‑on experience with modern ERP systems (e.g. NetSuite) and other accounting tools. Ability to leverage financial systems for process automation and reporting is expected.

What You'll Do Monthly Close & Reporting
Partner with the Controller on the monthly close calendar and coordinate cross‑functional deliverables.
Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by internal staff and external support teams.
Prepare the monthly reporting package including financial statements, flux analyses, and KPI tie‑outs.
Ensure GL accuracy and completeness across revenue, equity, expenses, and assets.
Stock Compensation & Equity Administration
Oversee administration of equity compensation programs using Carta.
Maintain accurate cap table and equity records; process grants, vesting, exercises, and terminations.
Support equity accounting and reporting requirements, including ASC 718, audits, and period‑end close.
Partner with Legal, HR, and Payroll to ensure equity activity aligns with plan documents and approvals.
Foreign Entity & Consolidation
Oversee accounting for the company's foreign entity, ensuring compliance with local GAAP and alignment with U.S. GAAP.
Review consolidation entries and reconciliations for intercompany balances.
Partner with the Controller to prepare consolidated financial statements.
Support FX remeasurement and translation adjustments.
Assist with transfer pricing and intercompany analyses as needed.
Technical Accounting
Conduct technical accounting analyses across revenue, equity, capitalization, and leases.
Ensure accounting policies are fully integrated into operational workflows and systems, promoting consistency and compliance.
Review schedules, supporting documentation, and analyses prepared by internal staff and external support teams to ensure accuracy and completeness.
What We're Looking For
5-8+ years progressive accounting experience, with a combination of public accounting and high‑growth startup experience.
Strong U.S. GAAP knowledge, with depth in ASC 606 (Revenue) and ASC 718 (Stock‑Based Compensation).
Experience supporting month‑end close processes and preparing management reporting packages.
Hands‑on experience assisting with audits and working directly with external auditors.
Strong process design, documentation, and internal control mindset.
High judgment, strong sense of ownership, and comfort operating in ambiguous environments.
Excellent organizational and communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Ability to operate effectively in a fast‑paced, evolving environment.
