The Materion Finance & Accounting Development Program (FADP)
is designed to accelerate early career development of high potential college graduates to prepare them for upwardly mobile careers within finance at Materion. The program is managed by a dedicated Finance & Accounting Development Program Manager with oversight by the CFO and Materion's leadership team.
The program prepares participants for roles of increasing responsibility through a combination of rotational assignments, structured learning, formalized feedback, and mentoring. Program participants will have the opportunity to interact with finance and accounting leaders and participate in various key financial initiatives.
FADPs will complete a two-year program consisting of three 8-month rotations. Geographical flexibility is required during the program and also upon completion of the program. Relocation assistance is provided. The first 8-month rotation will be at our Corporate Office in the Greater Cleveland, Ohio area.
Through your rotations, you will receive respected mentors amongst our leadership team and learning opportunities with challenging hands on experience. Program participants will receive exclusive training and exposure to multiple parts of a complex business to provide them a well-rounded experience within multiple finance functions.
Rotation examples include the following:

Prior to completing the program, participants will work with the Program Manager to identify a position to assume within the accounting & finance organization. Throughout the rotations, will work with management to establish and align both personal and company goals.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The Investment Accounting Associate is responsible for reconciling Client portfolios, responding to Client audit requests and providing reports to Clients and their consultants. Parametric's books and records are reconciled against statements provided by counterparties that also provide services to the Client. Upon completion of this process, the Investment Accounting Associate works with the counterparties to correct errors, monitor resolution, and ensure the Accounting Supervisor is apprised of all situations that are not corrected in a timely manner. Because AUM and Client management fees are based on these values, accuracy and timely resolution are critical.

* Reconciliation and analysis of statements received from custodians, swap counterparties, futures commission merchants (FCM's), financing counterparties, and various brokerage firms
* Obtain and organize statements from banks and brokers used in the reconciliation process. Monitor to ensure preliminary and final versions are reviewed, saved, and properly labeled
* Research and resolve issues that arise during the reconciliation process to minimize the impact to the Client. Determine the impact of the issue and escalate to senior staff as appropriate
* Build and leverage business relationships with custodians and counterparties to facilitate communication and implementation of solutions that will benefit the Client
* Ensure deadlines are met across all Clients, understanding this may require Accountants to set aside their individual tasks to assist colleagues with meeting their deadlines
* Escalate reconciliation issues and situations that may indicate a lapse in controls, missing controls, or a data integrity issue
* Provide accurate financial data to support Performance

* Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience, with a concentration in Finance or Accounting
* 1-3 years relevant experience working with an Investment Manager, Hedge Fund or business in a similar industry strongly preferred
* Proficient in Microsoft Office programs, specifically Excel
* Strong attention to detail and high standard for accuracy
* Ability to plan and prioritize in order to meet deadlines and achieve objectives
