Position Description: This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the hospitality industry and explore various facets of Club Operations. Essential Job Functions:

Goals and Objectives:
Gain comprehensive knowledge of Seabrook Island Club's accounting and finance operations within a private club environment. During this internship, the Accounting Intern will develop analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills while learning accounting best practices specific to hospitality and club management. The intern will gain hands-on experience supporting daily accounting functions, financial reporting, and internal controls while working closely with the Accounting and Finance team.
Experience:
The Accounting Intern will have a variety of different tasks in this position to get a well-rounded experience within the Accounting department. Some of the tasks include but are not limited to:
Assisting with daily accounting operations that could include accounts payable and accounts receivable
Learning and supporting month-end closing processes
Assisting with member charges and answer member emails/phone calls.
Assisting with data entry and maintaining accurate financial records
Supporting reconciliations of bank statements, general ledger accounts, and member accounts
Understanding internal controls and accounting procedures within a private club setting
Collaborating with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting
Assisting with audits and financial reviews as needed
The Accounting Intern will work closely with all members of the Accounting department and will be able to shadow the Senior Staff Accountant, Controller, and other finance leaders with any additional tasks.
Learning and Development
During the 12 weeks that the interns would be here, interns will attend a variety of different classes throughout the 12 weeks. Each class would be different and would highlight different aspects of hospitality/ Club management. The classes would include but are not limited to:
o Hospitality/Club Ethics
o Human Resources
o The Importance of Customer Service and Hospitality Management
o Club Financials
o All things Club Operations
o The Importance of a Resume/ Resume Building
There will also be a final project that could involve proposing improvements in customer service practice, club operations, inventory systems, conducting a market analysis of competitors, etc. They would then be required to present to a group of managers.
Requirements
Education: Currently enrolled in a hospitality program at an accredited college/university.
Experience: Some customer service experience preferred.
Skills: Excellent communication skills, ability to multi-task and work with others required, approachable and positive personality, proven leadership ability, customer service skills, professional image, strong work ethic and willing to be part of a team required while owning the learning experience by being proactive and taking initiative.

Equipment to be used: Computer POS systems and office equipment. May involve other equipment depending on rotation and requested assignments.
Typical Physical Demands: Ability to remain on your feet for extended periods of time. Ability to handle high stress levels during service hours.
