Key Responsibilities
Record financial transactions through journal entries, including amortizations, allocations, and accruals
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations in accordance with company policies

Support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes

THE ROLE
As the A/R Accounting Coordinator at Duke Energy Convention Center, you will play a key role in the daily functions of the Finance Department. The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, A/R processing, general accounting functions, journal entries, monthly/year-end close processing as well as other various functions. The A/R Accounting Coordinator will work closely with the Accounting Manager & assist with any projects, as necessary.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Support journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting activities to ensure timely and accurate financial statements
Prepare and deliver bank deposits as required.
Completes assigned sections of the monthly close by the specified deadline.
Inputs journal entries to the financial reporting computer system.
Accurately input cash receipts into Sage 50 and Momentus daily.
Serve as a point of contact for customers for inquiries related to accounts receivable activity.
Ensure invoices are generated, sent to customers & collected per contract.
Maintain proper documentation, support audits, & adhere to company policies, GAAP standards, and relevant regulations.
Assists as the back-up for A/P Accounting Coordinator, as necessary.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated part-time Accounting Intern to support our accounting operations. This part-time role (20-25 hours per week) is ideal for a student or recent graduate interested in nonprofit accounting, financial stewardship, and gaining hands-on experience supporting meaningful mission work.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with day-to-day accounting and financial activities
Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
Assumes responsibility for cash receipts, billing and reporting, and reports
Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
Prepares spreadsheets, data, and reports as requested
Learn nonprofit financial practices, compliance, and internal controls
Provide general administrative support related to finance and accounting
Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Currently pursuing or recently completed coursework in Accounting, Finance, or a related field at a college or university
Interest in nonprofit work and mission-driven organizations
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines
Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
Willingness to learn, ask questions, and work collaboratively
Experience with nonprofit or fund accounting, accounting software, or prior internship/volunteer experience is a plus

The Cincinnati Center City Development Corporation (3CDC) is a 501(c)(3), tax-exempt, private, non-profit corporation. The organization's mission and strategic focus is to strengthen the core assets of downtown by revitalizing and connecting the Central Business District and Over-the-Rhine (OTR). 3CDC works in close collaboration with the Cincinnati corporate community and City of Cincinnati to carry out its mission. Job Summary:
The Accounting Intern will be responsible for the general accounting for assigned entities in 3CDC's portfolio of operating, development, lending and predevelopment stage assets. This portfolio includes over 100 entities with various internal and external reporting and compliance requirements. This position will allow the Intern to perform entry level work expected of all first-year staff, as well as take on additional responsibilities as performance allows.
This is an entry-level position for the semester. This position will report directly to a Senior Accountant.
Tasks:
Assists in maintaining all applicable accounting records in accordance with accounting policies and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
Enters accounts payable and receivable and prepares general ledger entries on a regular basis.
Prepares account reconciliations and asset operating summaries and other internal reporting on a monthly and/or quarterly basis.
Assists in preparation of semi-annual financial statements, monitoring financial performance to established budgets and projections for the organizations including completing variance analysis using analytical procedures.
Responds to inquiries from management and other interested parties regarding accounting data, reporting and project investments.
Completes special projects, as assigned.
This is not intended to be all inclusive. The employee will also perform other reasonably related business duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor and other management as required.

Must be an accounting major who has reached sophomore, junior or senior status.

Ability to work at a computer terminal for an extended period.
Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination in operation of office equipment.
Able to speak and hear employees on the phone or in person.
Body motor skills sufficient to enable employee to move around the office environment.
Additional mental requirements: compare, decide direct, problem solve, analyze, instruct, and interpret.
The ability to work well under stress.
