The Difference You Make:

The Accounting Manager supports the Fiscal Director. The position includes administrative and professional accounting work, assisting in the operation and supervision of all fiscal and accounting functions in the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office. Some in-state travel may be required. The work schedule is 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. This position is exempt from the Fair Labors Standards Act (FLSA). This position offers a Limited Flexible Work Schedule and Teleworking Option.
The Job Responsibilities are:
* Managing all accounting sections to include budgeting, general ledgers, accounts payable, contract records, procurement, property records.
* Maintaining specialized accounting records to properly account for funds provided, expended and projection of year-end balance.
* Preparing and reviewing budget request for State and County fiscal years. Responsible for budgeting, expenditure tracking and analysis for management.
* Maintaining payment of invoices, contract reporting, purchasing commodities and services.
* Assisting in the preparation and review of vendor contracts, grant agreements and other contractually binding documents.
* Performing other related duties as assigned
The Minimum Requirements are:
* Possession of a CPA certificate and three (3) years of professional accounting experience; one (1) year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or
* A master's degree and three (3) years of professional accounting experience; one (1) year must have been in a supervisory capacity, or
* Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a major course work in finance/accounting and four (4) years of professional accounting experience; one (1) year must have been in a supervisory capacity,
The Preferred Qualifications and Skills are:
* Knowledge of non-profit/governmental fund accounting
* Knowledge of legislative appropriation process, state budget laws and policies, budget principles, budget categories and funds, FLAIR and other auxiliary reporting systems
* Ability to interpret and implement CFO, FLAIR LAS/PBS reports or memorandums

We are seeking a Controller to be the leader of our accounting team at our manufacturing facility located in Delray Beach. The Controller's main focus will be to oversee all accounting functionality at the company. The responsibility of the controller generally includes task such as the following: managing all accounting procedures, managing accounting staff, maintaining a general ledger, and/or chart of accounts, reviewing payroll, cash flow management, month end financial reporting, making sure we stay on budget, contract renewals, just to name a few. This position will report and meet directly with the CEO and Directors on a weekly basis. The existing controller and analysist (a former company controller) will be training new controller to take over role along with CEO. Routine Task:
Oversee the month-end close process, consistently reviewing procedures while eliminating inefficiencies.

About the Role
We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Controller to oversee financial operations across our development projects, stabilized properties, and in-house management companies. Reporting directly to a CPA and working closely with senior leadership, you will play a critical role in financial reporting, cash flow management, lender and investor relations, and strategic decision support.
This is a hands-on role where you will build deep expertise in real estate finance and operations, with a clear path to taking on broader finance leadership responsibilities (up to CFO) as the company scales.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee accounting and financial operations across multiple entities (development, property management, and construction)
Maintain and update cash flow projections and property-level budgets, including stabilized, under-construction, and pipeline assets
Deliver monthly, quarterly, and annual budget vs. actual reporting packages for executive leadership, investors, and lenders
Manage accounting systems (QuickBooks) with accurate categorization of expenses and receipts
Oversee property-level proformas and underwriting updates to support investment decisions and internal visibility
Monitor debt obligations, track lender covenants, and manage lender reporting and communication
Maintain insurance schedules and coordinate with brokers on renewals and compliance requirements
Review and coordinate disbursements, construction draws, and vendor activity for development and capex projects
Prepare investor reports, executive dashboards, and financial summaries for internal and external stakeholders
Build and refine financial models for acquisitions, refinancing, and new development projects
Partner with operations and development teams to gather and analyze performance data (rents, expenses, occupancy, etc.)
Drive continuous improvement of financial processes, controls, and reporting frameworks
Requirements
2-5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or real estate (public accounting or real estate development experience strongly preferred)
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field (CPA or pursuit of CPA is a plus)
Strong proficiency with Excel, including building and maintaining financial models
Solid understanding of financial statements, GAAP accounting, and cash flow forecasting
Familiarity with real estate finance concepts (IRR, NOI, DSCR) and investor reporting
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with ability to manage multiple entities and reporting cycles
Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with operations, development, and leadership teams
Bonus: Experience with real estate software such as Yardi, Argus, or Procore

YOU'RE GOING TO :
Perform general cost accounting and other related duties in the accounting department;
Prepare periodic (monthly) balance sheets, income statements, and profit and loss statements;
Maintain the general ledger;
Code invoices set up new accounts, reconcile accounts, and close the monthly books;
Reconcile bank accounts at least monthly, verify deposits, and address inquiries from banks;
Reconcile customer accounts and manage accounts receivable collections;
Verify payment of invoices associated with accounts payable and ensure payments are charged to the appropriate accounts;
Provide outside auditors with assistance; gather necessary account information and documents to perform annual audit;
File required tax forms with federal, state, and local government agencies;
As appropriate, coordinate with our software vendor to maintain the accounting software system; recommend updates to enhance the accounting software;
Perform other related duties as assigned.
