    Insight Global is currently hiring an Assistant Manager of Inventory and Cost Accounting for one of our clients. Our client is a leading home improvement retail chain in the United States. In this role, you will oversee 2-3 accountants/accounting coordinators and play a critical part in month-end close, journal entries, and becoming a subject matter expert in cost and inventory accounting. You will work closely with supply chain and operations to ensure accurate inventory valuation and resolve issues before they impact P&L. This position offers growth opportunities and is ideal for someone who has managed people in some capacity and is ready to step into a leadership role in a large corporate/public company environment. Key Responsibilities: -Manage and develop a small team (2-3 direct reports) while reviewing and preparing work as needed. -Oversee month-end close activities, including journal entries and reconciliations. -Become the SME for cost and inventory accounting, including purchase cost, supply chain, tariffs, and shipping. -Support the team in identifying and resolving inventory cost errors, including potential system issues. -Ensure issues are addressed before they impact the P&L. -Review and approve inventory valuation and reserves. -Collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain accurate costing and inventory processes. -Utilize accounting systems and tools such as Oracle, Hyperion, and proprietary inventory costing software. -Provide insights and recommendations for process improvements. This is a direct hire position with a salary of $110k - $115k depending upon qualifications and years of experience.
