The Data Analyst- Forecast Performance & Competitive Insights will play a key role in advancing AccuWeather's leadership in forecast accuracy as well as project management. This position will support the Forecasting Operations team by comparing AccuWeather forecasts against those of other sources, identifying trends and deviations, and delivering insights that drive operational improvement and business differentiation.
They will collaborate with meteorologists, data scientists, and leadership to rigorously evaluate forecast outcomes and support strategic initiatives across the organization.
In addition, there will be project management responsibilities at times working toward improving our products and forecasts.
This is a Part-time or Internship position. Must be willing to work on Saturday and Sunday, sometimes in the evening, to ensure needed data is captured and properly verified and reported on in a timely manner. There will be times when the candidate is asked to help during the week for vacation or sickness coverage. There is also the possibility that the position grows into opportunities for additional routine hours during the week.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Collect, normalize, and analyze forecast data from AccuWeather and other sources across various geographies and timeframes.
Develop and maintain metrics dashboards and automated reporting that reflect forecast accuracy, bias, timeliness, and reliability.
Work with team members and Manager, Forecasting Technology on firm process and tools to complete tasks and report
Produce actionable insights that inform continuous improvement of AccuWeather's operational forecasts. Develop them into Proof of Performance documents that showcase AccuWeather's Superior Accuracy™
Assist in the design and refinement of forecast evaluation tools, including visualization interfaces and comparative analytics.
Support internal and external communication of AccuWeather's forecast superiority using data-driven evidence.
Working with the Sr. Director, Strategic Projects, assist with project management and specification writing on an as-needed basis.
Work mainly on weekends but also asked at times to fill in during the week for vacation and sickness situations.
QUALIFICATIONS
Working towards or have a Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Meteorology, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
2+ years of experience in data analysis, preferably involving large-scale, time-series or geospatial data a plus.
Proficiency in Python, R, or SQL; experience with tools like Pandas, NumPy, and visualization libraries (e.g., Matplotlib, Plotly, Tableau).
Understanding weather data formats and forecast models is highly desirable.
Strong analytical thinking and communication skills-able to translate complex data into actionable insights.
Attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and accuracy.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. Ability to multi-task while staying detail oriented

Physical Requirements:
This position requires reliable transportation as the work environment will constantly shift, based on program locations. As this is a dance teaching position, the applicant must be physically able to stand for hours at a time, or have experience teaching dance from a seated position. How You'll Support The Mission
Develop high-value, cohesive and strategically-led client proposals incorporating original branded content ideas, live events, digital media and newsroom collaborations and sponsorships.
Ideate and pitch custom content strategies that deliver solutions to client challenges.
Manage the flow of collaboration among all stakeholders whose contributions are needed to deliver the most strategic pitches and proposals.
Be responsible for building and finalizing materials in the proposal process, which could include one-sheeters, decks or other forms.

The ideal candidate has a passion for journalism and hard news, with their finger on the pulse of cultural conversations surrounding topics our college readers care about, including U.S. politics, academics, global and national issues, and viral news.
The News & Politics Intern may assist the editorial team with all things editorial-related: writing and editing timely news articles, working on larger editorial projects and packages, interviewing talent and expert sources, and creating and optimizing SEO and e-commerce content, among other projects. Overview
The Zamboni Operator will perform general labor duties as assigned. Duties included but not limited to building conversions for various events, familiarity with all aspects of facility operations and maintenance in addition to ice making, ice maintenance and repair.
This position is based at the PPL Center. PPL Center is a state-of-the-art multipurpose venue in downtown Allentown, PA. The arena seats more than 10,000 for concerts and more than 8,500 for Lehigh Valley Phantoms professional hockey games, making it the region's largest events venue. THe amenities-packed PPL Center, which includes more than 50 premium spaces (suites, loges, party areas) depending on the event, will host more than 150 events each year, offering something for everyone, including the Phantoms, the AHL affiliate to the NHL Philadelphia Flyers, concerts, family shows, trade shows, youth sports, high school and collegiate events, Disney on Ice, conferences, graduations and many more events. PPL Center is currently the main catalyst to the revitalization and growth of downtown Allentown.
This role will pay an hourly wage of $14.00 to $19.00

Responsibilities
Responsible for occasional maintenance and repair of rink equipment to include, but not limited to: Zamboni, dasher system, subfloor, tempered glass, acrylic glass, safety netting, Jet Ice systems, edgers, goal nets, etc.
Work with the facilities department to provide optimal ice conditions for all ice events.
Oversee aspects of ice installation and removal.
Assist operations department to expedite event conversions.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Must be a trained operator for Zamboni Ice Resurfacing machines
Solid understanding of OSHA rules and regulations
Must be comfortable working in very cold or very hot conditions for long periods of time
Must be able to stand, bend and stoop for long periods of time
Must be able to climb stairs/ladder
Ability to adhere to building policies and event requirements
Ability to read and follow verbal and written instructions as well as communicate effectively with other in both oral and written form
Must be able to work long irregular hours to include nights, weekends, and holidays
