Dacia Toll is the co-founder and CEO of Achievement First, a non-profit charter management organization which operates 37 public charter schools in Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island. Prior to co-founding Achievement First in 2003, Dacia led the founding team of Amistad Academy in New Haven, CT., and served as the school's first Principal from 1999 to 2005. Amistad Academy was recognized nationally as an exemplar for closing the achievement gap by the U.S. Department of Education, through a national PBS documentary, and by the State of Connecticut after posting the greatest achievement gains of any middle school in the state.

Presently, Dacia focuses on the development and expansion of Achievement First and the success of all Achievement First schools. She manages some of the organization's internal operations and external relations, and her core responsibilities include strategic planning, talent recruitment and development, principal coaching, community outreach, fundraising, and board relations.

Dacia is a participant in the Aspen Urban Superintendents Network and a graduate of The Broad Superintendents Academy. Dacia serves on the board of directors for 50CAN, Relay Graduate School of Education, and Together Education.

After graduating from the University of North Carolina, where she was a Morehead Scholar, Dacia received a master's degree from Oxford University on a Rhodes Scholarship. She received her teaching certificate and J.D. from Yale University shortly before founding Amistad Academy.
