1. Advises international students on general immigration and service matters including pre-arrival, arrival, and campus adjustment needs. Assists students with on campus services by serving as a departmental liaison. Communicates with faculty and staff regarding international student services.
2. Serves as a liaison with U.S. government and foreign governmental agencies for visiting international student programs.
3. Assists departmental unit in invoicing and day-to-day business operations.
4. Stays abreast of immigration laws relating to various visa types.
5. Maintains, updates, and reviews records in a database to ensure eligibility status of current and future students.
6. Assists with planning and coordinating orientation, arrival transportation, and additional needs of the University during initial transition.
7. Serves as point of contact for inquiries from international students via phone, email, or in-person.
8. Communicates and reviews documents needed for issuing immigration documents.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with focus on Counseling Education, Business, or related
field with 2 years experience related to the above described duties.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
1. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
2. Strong attention to detail.
3. Experience working with individuals from diverse cultures, languages, and
ethnic backgrounds.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort
1. Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
2. No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
3. No or very limited physical effort required.
