Acquia CEO and leadership

Michael Sullivan is CEO of Acquia, effective in December 2017. Sullivan joins Acquia from Micro Focus, where he participated in the merger of Micro Focus with Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s software business. The combined company became the world’s seventh largest pure-play software company and the largest UK technology firm listed on the London Stock Exchange.

Sullivan was responsible for the information management and governance product portfolio both at Micro Focus and at HP, where he was senior VP and GM for SaaS. Prior to joining HP, he led the Protect business unit at Autonomy, which delivered risk and compliance solutions to Fortune 1000 companies. He joined Autonomy through the acquisition of Zantaz, where he was senior VP of operations and services. Sullivan was the founder and CEO of Steelpoint Technologies, a pioneer in technologies for the intelligent management of unstructured information.

Sullivan was recognized by Ernst & Young as an Entrepreneur of the Year finalist in both 2000 and 2004. Earlier in his career, he was a software developer for Raytheon. A lifelong resident of Massachusetts, he holds a degree in computer information systems from Bentley University.

Dries Buytaert (born 19 November 1978) is a Belgian open-source software programmer notable as founder and lead developer of the Drupal content management system.

Leah Magee is an Executive Assistant to the CTO/Cofounder and Office of the CTO at Acquia and is based in Boston, Massachusetts. She has worked as National Account Sales and Marketing Manager at Programming Resources Inc., National Account Manager at Sprint PCS, and SR Director of Membership Development at Mass Technology Leadership Council. Leah studied at Belmont University between 1993 and 1994, Aquinas College between 1993 and 1994, and Aquinas College between 2002 and 2004.

As Acquia’s chief operating officer, Stephen Reny leads customer success, professional services, global support, and operations. He joined Acquia from Micro Focus, where as vice president and general manager, he ran the Information management and governance business, as well as the global SaaS businesses.

Reny has more than 25 years of experience leading sales channels, corporate and business development, and mergers and acquisitions. He has held CEO, CFO and COO roles for a number of organizations. Reny began his career in finance and has held executive positions in finance, corporate banking, investment banking, and private equity businesses. Reny graduated from Bentley University.

As chief architect, Ed Brennan leads the technology practice at Acquia. He has most recently held roles at Click Software as cloud evangelist and at Cloud Technology Partners as VP Principal Architect. Previous experience includes Senior Director, Cloud Development and Strategy and Senior Director, Solutions Architecture and Engineering. Ed brings more than 20 years of engineering and architecture experience and holds patents in cloud technologies.

Heather Hartford is a Senior VP at Digitas and Chief People Officer at Acquia and is based in 53 State Street. She has worked as Account Services at Hill Holliday; Marketing Assistant at Gardner Preston Moss; and Director of Advertising-Marshalls at THE TJX COMPANIES, INC.. Heather studied at University of New Hampshire between 1984 and 1988 and CONCORD HIGH SCHOOL between 1980 and 1984.

Lynne Capozzi is a Chief Marketing Officer at Acquia.
