Team Name:
Blizzard is looking for a talented and motivated Lead Client Engineer to guide our growing client foundations team as we craft a new, unannounced game. This team is critical in architecting and building systems that will help scale our game's client to reach the largest player base with a client that is both performant and responsive.
We are looking for a candidate with deep technical expertise with Unity, C#, and .NET. The ideal candidate will also have a proven record of leading engineers through work deep within the game client code, including optimizing for multiplatform development, working with technical artists to build systems that scale and provide delightful player experiences.

This role is a full-time, hybrid work position, with some work on-site and some work-from-home. The home studio for this role is Irvine, CA.
Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and grow our team of engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and accountability while being a key code contributor.
Manage priorities, deadlines, and deliverables, ensuring clear communication and alignment across peers and disciplines.
Proactively surface technical and execution risks, drive open discussion, and ensure they are addressed in a timely manner.
Partner closely with tech art, UI, and engineers across the larger team to optimize our game for player experiences with the game client.
Requirements
Deep, hands-on expertise with Unity, C#, and .NET, architecting and delivering projects in service of the game client.
Experience building and shipping game features for mobile, PC, and console games.
Proven people management experience leading engineering teams in game development; dedication to building inclusive, high-performing teams.
Demonstrated ability to balance technical contribution (coding/architecture) with leadership responsibilities.
Comfort working in a rapidly evolving, in-flight game codebase, with the judgment to balance quick prototyping against long-term scalability and maintainability.
Background in live operations, content pipelines, and iterative game client updates.
Strong cross-functional communication skills, with experience bridging engineering, art, and design.

Software Engineer II, Android DevTools

As a Software Engineer II, you have growing technical expertise, developing ingenuity, and constant curiosity. You will use your understanding of game development, Android and the family of Developer Tools it provides to ensure the best possible software is produced. You will contribute to developing and finding best practices and applying those to customer codebases.
Responsibilities:
Proficiency in current Android Developer Tools related to the spectrum of phases found in game development: debugging, packaging and performance analysis.
Working knowledge of how major middleware engines integrate with Android Developer Tools, identifying any shortcoming, and driving for the best setup or adoption.
Maintaining and evolving a list of best practices as uncovered by use of the Android Developer Tools
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field or equivalent practical experience.
5+ years of experience in developing game applications or related fields.
Understanding of mobile landscapes and trends in Android development
Proficiency in Android (Java/Kotlin and Android Studio) development.
Proficiency in C/C++ in Android, NDK and JNI.
Experience working with Google Play Services, and Google Developer Console.
Proven experience with Agile development methodologies, such as Scrum.
Ability to measure and application performance in multi-threaded applications.
Desired Qualifications:
Experience with open-source contributions.
Experience in graphics debugging.
Experience in a middleware engine such as Unreal or Unity.
Shipped at least one mobile game title.
Shipped at least one game title on a PlayStation console.

Responsibilities:
Work as part of an Agile Scrum team to design and develop end-to-end RNPS/Javascript-based applications in the front-end, or Java/JS/Graph QL in the backend, delivering highly scalable applications running on the PS5 console.

Investigate and Resolve reported Defects and work with the QE team members to close on the issues.
Work on continuous improvement of software, by profiling, refactoring and optimizing the code.

Own sharable features and components across several projects and be accountable for the results.
Ability to support and develop SDK/Sample Programs in native C++ code as needed

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field. Equivalent industry experience will be evaluated.
Solid base in Computer Science, understanding of OOP, Data Structures, and Design Patterns.
Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
2+ years of experience with designing and developing apps, plus experience in services integration.
Strong programming skills using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, JSON. Knowledge of C/C++
Experience in Java or other server programming languages like Python
Passionate about quality and writing clean, readable code that scales and performs well.
A collaborative teammate, a fast learner, with a positive and can-do attitude.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with popular JavaScript UI frameworks, React and React Native, Node.js, and Restful APIs.
Works with Docker and Kubernetes in current role
Built and developed Cloud-based applications or services, preferably in AWS
Built and developed GraphQL-based applications
Experience working in Gaming, Digital Media Services, Device Software.
