Qualifications:

- One (1) year experience working with memory impaired seniors
- High School diploma / GED accepted and may be required per state regulations; certification(s) may be required per state regulations
- Ability to motivate, encourage residents; knowledge of how to adapt life skills to the cognitive and functional ability of each resident
- Inspire, motivate and encourage volunteers and fellow team members to engage residents in meaningful, purposeful activities throughout the day and evening

JOB SUMMARY:

The Activities Coordinator has the responsibility for the development, implementation, and evaluation of a written, planned schedule of social and other purposeful independent and group activities. The program will be designed to make life more meaningful, to stimulate and support mental, physical, emotional and medical capabilities to the fullest extent, and to enable the patients to maintain the highest attainable social, mental, physical, and emotional functioning.

Develop, implement, and supervise an activity program that meets federal and state regulations.

Provide an opportunity for patients' involvement in planning and implementing the activity program. Arranges and assists with off-unit activities as appropriate.

Provide activities on a daily basis to include weekends and evenings.

Collaborates with the treatment team to arrange activities that promote functional independence.

Maintains good therapeutic communication and implements activities that are meaningful to patients.

Develop activities that addresses multiple levels of care which are appropriate with the patients' functional levels.

Develop schedule and implements an activity program designed to meet individual needs for the geriatric psychiatry population including those who cannot leave their rooms.

Request and maintain equipment and supplies.

Develop and maintain contacts with outside agencies and organizations and integrate their services into the activity plan.

Provide a wide range of activities which includes opportunities for productive purposeful socialization, educational and intellectual pursuits, religious activities, functional and restorative and decision making and coping skills.

Interviews and assess each patient and develop a plan of care that addresses the patient's specific needs and interests within three days of admission that is integrated with the interdisciplinary plan of care.

The Activities Mechanic is responsible for performing all routine maintenance procedures with direction from the activity maintenance supervisor and senior mechanics. They are also responsible for preventive maintenance and repair of the assigned activities while interacting professionally with activities operations staff. **Qualifications:**

+ Must have a Valid Driver's License & Satisfactory Driving Record (in accordance with VR Drivers Policy)

+ Must be able to lift up to 75lbs

+ Must be able to do physical work, stand for long

+ Must be able to work outside in varying weather conditions

+ Must be comfortable working at heights up to 160 feet

+ Mechanical aptitude

**Preferred Experience:**

+ Rope Course , Zip Line, and Mountain Coaster operational experience

+ Experience with technical/mechanical aspects of Ropes Courses, Zip Lines, or other amusement rides

+ Experience working at height with rope access, work positioning, and fall arrest systems

+ Intermediate ski or ride ability

**Skills:**

+ English language: strong written and verbal skills

+ Communication skills: able to provide and receive direction. Be able to stay Out Front of industry standards and share with Management any changes or concerns in a timely manner

+ Continuous trouble shooting and adaptability

+ Self motivated with an eye for detail in the work area

+ Able to use a variety of tools ranging from basic to technically advanced hand tools and specialty items

The budgeted range starts at $20. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
