What You'll Do
You'll partner with a Travel Center General Manager (TCGM) and other leaders to learn the fundamentals of our operations and deliver exceptional guest experiences. Your responsibilities will include:

Team Management: Learn to manage shifts and understand team member roles and responsibilities.

This position is responsible for performing specialized technical duties in the repair, maintenance, and installation of customer's fiber optic networks.
Duties and responsibilities
• Responds to emergency and non-emergency repair calls regarding all aspects of our customers OSP fiber optic network.
• Performs construction, splicing, distribution changes of OSP and ISP fiber optic cables.
• Performs tests on OSP and ISP networks to troubleshoot problems.
• Makes necessary repairs on the OSP and ISP facilities once problem is identified.
• Assures network is functioning properly before leaving customer site.
• Assists in maintaining inventory and notifies appropriate personnel when materials need to be ordered.
• Night shift work is required due to the nature of maintenance windows.
• This position will be subject to call outs to meet service requirements.
• Weekend and holiday work may be required as service demands dictate.
• The work consists of related technical duties and is considered complex.
• Fiber optic construction and splicing can be complex, and skills should be kept up to date.
• The purpose of this position is to perform specialized technical duties in the repair, maintenance, construction and splicing of our customers fiber optic networks.
Qualifications
• Ability to read, write and perform mathematical calculations at a level commonly associated with the completion of
• high school or equivalent. -Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of
• the position usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
• Computer Skills: Proficient with Microsoft Office; Bluebeam; Microsoft Outlook; Google Earth
• OSHA 10 - (to be completed within 90 days of employment)

Join the fun and begin building your five star career as a Community Intern with Yelp! You will engage in a 6-month development program, equipped with the support of both a cohort of peers spanning the US and Canada and the 1:1 mentorship from your local Community Manager. You will play an integral part in supporting activities designed to rally the Yelp community both online and off. You will gain tactical experience in social media management, event planning, and online community building, while building excitement around what's happening in your own community.
What you'll do:
* You will work with your Community Manager to understand your market and prioritize effective messaging
* You will help to plan and execute events including remarkable parties, local meet-ups, and happy hours
* You will gain practical experience in digital and social media marketing through creating and organizing social media content that aligns with regional goals around growing channels and bolstering engagement
* You will support the maintenance of Yelp's local online business listings via our app and website by flagging photos, identifying media alerts and scams, and ensuring accurate business information
* You will support online community building through engaging with Yelpers via the app/website in a variety of ways
What it takes to succeed:
* You are a current undergraduate student or a recent college graduate, or equivalent experience
* You currently reside in Tucson, Arizona, and have reliable transportation (Required)
* You are at least 21 years of age (Required)
* You consider yourself a local expert- you know what is trending in the area and have a love for small businesses
* You have experience and interest in planning and coordinating events
* You have strong written and verbal communication skills
* You are well organized and pay attention to detail
* You have experience with social media copywriting and asset coordination
* You are a creative problem solver who understands Yelp's applications
* You have the bandwidth and flexibility to work 10-19 hours per week, Monday through Friday with the potential for some weekend work
* You have the ability to lift 10 pounds without assistance
What you'll get:
Compensation range for this position is $16.00 - $19.00 per hour.

How You Will Contribute:
As a Wavelogic software intern, you will push the boundaries of what is possible in optical network solutions. You will work alongside experienced professionals to ensure the reliability and performance of projects that play critical roles in our network solutions and help build upon our innovative technology. You will also challenge yourself and others by bringing enthusiasm and fresh ideas to new challenges and leading by example.
* Develop understanding and expertise in next-gen network solutions using optical transport and switching technologies like OTN, Ethernet etc.
* Develop embedded software skills to design, develop, validate and document advanced networking features and capabilities which are deployed in service provider networks.
* Trouble shoot and fix reported issues with embedded software, identify root cause, diagnose, debug and deliver robust timely fixes.
* Collaborate with multi-functional teams to design, develop and test the next-gen modem technologies.
The Must Haves:
* Working towards completion of Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering
* C, C++ programming language experience
* Good knowledge of embedded systems, device drivers (e.g., GPIO, I2C drivers), Linux/RTOS Operating System knowledge, mutual exclusion, synchronization, interrupt handling, inter-process communication, memory management etc.
* Positive work attitude, highly motivated and an ability to seek out answers with a willingness to learn and work independently
* Strong verbal and technical writing skills
* Collaborates well in a team environment
The Assets:
* Familiarity with datacom & telecom concepts such as DWDM, OTN, Ethernet, TCP/IP
* Low-level Real-Time Software/Firmware Development including HW bring up, interfacing with 3rd party devices.
* Ability to understand CPU Hardware architectures, Hardware Functional Specifications and Hardware Timing Diagrams
* Linux as a software development environment
* Design and development tools such as: Git, Eclipse, JIRA, Confluence, GDB, Yocto
* YANG modeling language and toolchains
* Scripting experience, Python, Go, BASH
* Automation and Test
Pay Range:
The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $38.00
