Screen visitors, vendors and guests before directing them to the correct area; this may include completing a visitor log; call appropriate department to confirm all appointments and direct all visitors. Check in patients while using a daily log sheet and directing patients to the appropriate area. Maintain a weekly list of all meetings, training programs and expected guests. Assist with emergency procedures and direct public safety officials as well as respond to emergency situations, e.g. issues of workplace violence, violent patients or protestors, accidents, fires, medical emergencies, crimes in progress, alarm notifications, etc. Accept mail and deliveries. Conduct security and criminal investigations as necessary. Conduct safety/security training for PPSP staff. Works in cooperation with the Health Center Manager to ensure health center operations meet agency standards. This position floats between the Pittsburgh and Bridgeville Family Planning Clinics. Acts as a replacement for clinicians who are unable to work their regularly scheduled hours or for health centers that need to have a clinician on an as needed basis. ESSENTIALFUNCTIONS · Provides medical services, contraceptive, reproductive and sexual health services, according to the standards and guidelines of Planned Parenthood Federation of America and the protocols of Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania. · Works with the Laboratory Director to ensure that all test methodologies are appropriate, and that the center(s) is providing patient results.     Job DescriptionNUTRITION INTERN Adagio Health Inc is looking to hire part-time Nutrition Intern role to support either its Turtle Creek, PA or Pittsburgh, PA location. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A NUTRITION INTERN Adagio Health's SNAP-Education team provides nutrition education and physical activity promotion programming to participants across the lifespan to support healthy lifestyles and make the healthy choice, the easy choice. To assist in providing programming to all partners, the SNAP-Education team seeks enthusiastic Nutrition Interns to deliver classroom lessons in Early Childhood and K-12 School settings. Interns can expect to receive training on all curricula utilized and program delivery expectations. Scheduling and working hours can be flexible based on partner needs. Teaching materials and supplementary materials (handouts, food tastings, incentives, etc.) will be made available at either the Turtle Creek or Langley office, whichever is more convenient. Your schedule may look like: A series of 6 monthly lessons for PK-Gr2 students at PPS Lincoln, seeing ~6 classrooms per visit (8am-3pm), OR A series of 4 monthly lessons for High School students at PPS Obama, seeing ~5 classes per visit (7:30am-12pm); OR A series of 8 lessons for PK at a Head Start classroom, seeing 1 class per visit (~1hr); OR A series of 6 weekly afterschool cooking classes for GrK-8 students at Young Scholars of Greater Allegheny, seeing ~3 groups per visit (3pm-6pm); OR Some other combination of programming or alternative schedule QUALIFICATIONS FOR A NUTRITION INTERN Pursuing BA/BS degree in public health, education, nutrition or a related field. Excellent interpersonal skills and a desire to: develop, provide and evaluate education programming. Experience in youth education in a school setting and in public health is desirable Must possess a valid driver's license and have access to reliable transportation for required travel to deliver programming. SKILLS AND ABILITIES OF A NUTRITION INTERN Self-direction and time management | Attention to detail | Strong public speaking skills | Experience working with the public, education professionals, teachers, principals, and the low-income population. | Adaptability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet the program goals | Proficient in Microsoft Series.
