Adams Manufacturing company history timeline

1979

In 1979 she was honored by the U. S. Treasury Department when her image was put on one-dollar coins, the first woman to appear on United States currency.

1983

1983: The second of L. L. Brown’s paper mills, located at 75 Commercial Street, was converted into a complex of 99 low income housing units.

1989

1989 - The remaining former Adams mill building in Shelton burns down in an accidental fire.

1992

1992: The construction of Wacky World playground took place over a four-day period on the site of the former Liberty Street School.
