    Job DescriptionSummary: The Engineering Manager organizes, plans, and leads a skilled team of design and project engineers in the support, design, and development of new company products in accordance with customer specifications, company engineering policies, and government/industry standards. The manager is responsible for the technical aspects of new and legacy aerospace products within an assigned segment of business operations. The manager is also responsible for leading (the engineering team) and supporting the cross-functional, business unit teams. Position Overview: Essential functions of the position include, but are not limited to: • Maintain overall technical ownership/authority and lead the team engaged in the design and development of company products. • Facilitate the communication and interaction among both internal and external stakeholders by advocating and fostering cross-functional teamwork using team-based management and leadership concepts. • Ensure that the goals, objectives, and deliverables of each program/project are accomplished. Strong bias in execution of the company's product development process and targeted OTD. • Ability to identify and communicate project risks, goals, and requirements to internal/external stakeholders. • Responsible for supporting the marketing of company products as well as analyzing customer requirements, providing special technical analyses, and resolving customer problems. • Technical lead in generating and supporting new business opportunities (including RFI/RFP activities). • Build and lead a dynamic team and set the pace as a leader of the organization. • Provide employee coaching and mentoring to further build and strengthen the culture within the team. • Support the development of short and long-term goals within the engineering department and ensure they are aligned with the overall company goals and objectives. • Identify new and/or opportunistic applications in solving customer problems. In addition, cultivating relationships with current and new customers. • Develop innovative and proprietary technology for various commercial and military platforms using focused resources and cross-functional teamwork. • Manage and lead configuration management team. • Lead activities to enhance the engineering department's efficiency (productivity).• Travel domestically and/or internationally to support sales with new business opportunities or to provide engineering support on customer issues • Work onsite for standard 5-day workweek • Support other duties as needed Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). • Minimum of 5 years of product design/engineering experience and/or a minimum of 3 years of project/engineering management experience (engineering management experience supervising technical professional). • Culture champion who is a strong advocate for and actively fosters cross-functional teamwork within the company. • Experience in aerospace and/or medical industry is preferred. • Experience with MS Office products (including Microsoft Project) and 3D CAD/CAE (knowledge of Solidworks is preferred) • Knowledge/experience of PDM or equivalent is a plus. • Knowledge/experience of configuration management is a plus. • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. • To conform to U.S. export control regulations, applicant should be eligible for any required authorizations from the U.S. Government. Build, maintain, and instrument hardware test setups involving DC power systems, loads, thermal management, cabling, enclosures, and mechanical interfaces. Use tools like oscilloscopes, DAQ systems, power supplies, thermal chambers, and custom test fixtures to execute validation activities. Investigate issues by analyzing both electrical signals and mechanical performance; drive root-cause resolution in cross-functional teams. Define and manage validation timelines to align with hardware development milestones. Act as primary liaison with external test labs for regulatory, certification, and environmental testing (e.g., thermal, vibration, EMC). Own compliance, qualification, and certification efforts for design releases. Author detailed validation plans, protocols, test reports, and engineering documentation. Position Requirements: BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related discipline Minimum 10 years of experience in hardware validation of electromechanical systems Proven track record diagnosing mixed signal, power, and electromechanical issues in lab environments Strong understanding of validation methods and lab instrumentation (oscilloscopes, DAQ, thermal cycling, high current load testing) Experience with LabVIEW or equivalent for test automation.
