Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Handyman / Carpenter to join our team and support ongoing maintenance and construction needs across multiple properties and job sites in the Houston area. The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a broad skill set in general repairs, light carpentry, and small-scale construction. This role requires travel throughout Houston to complete tasks efficiently, safely, and to a high standard.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform general handyman duties, including painting, drywall repairs, door/window adjustments, hardware replacement, and minor plumbing/electrical fixes.
Execute light carpentry work such as framing, trim installation, shelving, cabinetry, and wood repairs.
Travel to various job sites throughout the Houston area based on the daily/weekly schedule.
Diagnose issues and provide accurate material and labor estimates as needed.
Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure tools and equipment are in proper working condition.
Communicate with project managers and property staff regarding project status and completion timelines.
Follow safety procedures and company standards at all times.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a handyman, carpenter, or general maintenancetechnician.
Strong knowledge of construction materials, tools, and carpentry techniques.
Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to travel daily across job sites within the Houston metro area.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks.
Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and customer service skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in general maintenance or carpentry.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
Familiarity with multi-family property maintenance or residential construction.

The Field Technician II will be responsible for handling emergency leak calls. Perform natural gas line locates. Handling meter turn ons and turn offs. Works with customer service to communicate meter turn ons and offs, and residential and commercial meter installations.
RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Must maintain all Field Technician I “Operator Qualification Certifications” and have obtained all Field Technician II OQ Certs.
Handle all leak calls and troubleshoot where the leak is coming from and come to a resolution.
Installs, monitor, and maintain gas meter sets in new residential developments.
Install light commercial meter sets. (AL1000 and under)
Will handle pressure upgrades for the installation of new equipment like pools, hot tubs, or water heaters.
Works in conjunction with the Field Service team to coordinate daily activities and to ensure that gas service is uninterrupted.
Inspect and certify contractor work in accordance with industry and Rail Road Commission (RRC) standards.
Perform patrols for pipeline surveys.
Perform installation and programming of Automated Meter Reader (AMR)
Assist in the process of training Field Technician I.
May assist a Field Technician III in performing some of the duties that require multiple technicians.
Rotating schedule of “On-Call Duty” and the ability to perform the duties of On-Call Duty as outlined in the On-Call Policy.
Must obtain all Field Technician II “Operator Qualification Certifications” through Energy World Net.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience:
High School Diploma or GED
One to five years of related experience.
Understanding of local codes and regulations.
Related experience in a field operations environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

What You'll Do as an Apartment Senior MaintenanceTechnician:
We're seeking an experienced Senior MaintenanceTechnician who is hands-on, technically skilled, and ready to lead a service team at a high-volume community. In this role, you will:
Lead, train, and guide maintenance staff throughout daily operations
Complete and oversee service requests to ensure timely, high-quality results
Coordinate and assist with make-readies, upgrades, and maintenance schedules
Ensure all work orders and unit turns are completed efficiently and accurately
Participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled
Maintain organized inventory and ensure proper use of tools/equipment
Support the Property Manager with various maintenance projects and initiatives
Uphold community standards for safety, cleanliness, and resident satisfaction
What We're Looking For:
To be successful in this role, you MUST have:
Minimum 3 Years Previous Experience as a Senior MaintenanceTechnician in multifamily housing (including team supervision)
Valid HVAC Certification REQUIRED
Valid Drivers License and reliable transportation
Stable work history
A personal set of basic hand tools
Proven ability to coach, train, and lead service technicians
Strong organizational, troubleshooting, and time-management skills
Willingness to participate in on-call rotation
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus but not required.
Important: Candidates must live within a 20-mile radius of the property or be willing to relocate.
Working Environment:
This role requires regular physical activity, including standing, walking, sitting, lifting, climbing, stooping, kneeling, and reaching. Team members must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. individually and up to 100 lbs. with assistance.
Most work occurs in an outdoor environment, with occasional off-site tasks as needed. All employees must adhere to the company's uniform policy, provided on the first day of employment.
