The Laboratory Assistant, under direction of the Laboratory Director, enhances and extends the productivity of Clinical Laboratory Scientists by performing patient accommodative services including phlebotomy, specimen receipt, specimen processing and technical procedures as assigned; assumes other duties and responsibilities as directed by Supervisor. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Formal training which will probably be indicated by a high school diploma or equivalent; two years experience as a laboratory assistant, phlebotomist, laboratory aide/processor or handler; excellent verbal communication skills.
