We are hiring a PRN/Part-Time MentalHealthTechnician for our growing team in our in-patient psychiatric hospital division! You will provide direct and indirect patient care throughout the client/patient's stay while providing for the personal care and comfort of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs and records patient vital signs and notifies RN of any changes.
Continuously observes patients' behavior, mental status, and activities, and notifies RN of any changes or unusual occurrences.
Demonstrates the ability to identify behaviors that require intervention.
Escorts and observes clients during activities, meals, visitation, and groups.
Able to perform patient safety checks at scheduled times, and documents appropriately.
Demonstrates the ability to set limits for patients and other de-escalation techniques.
Orients patients to the facility.
Acts as a liaison to all areas of persons served/client care, medical staff, admission staff, nursing staff, and clinical staff.
Participates in treatment team meetings. Communicate appropriately and clearly.
Perform 15-minute observation rounds and documents appropriately.
Assists in the orientation of new staff members.
Assists with therapeutic educational groups in conjunction with the nursing and clinical team.
Responsible for one-on-one observation and constant visual observation of high-risk patients.
Responsible for assisting patients needing additional care related to medical needs.
Provides general nursing care, i.e., transferring patients and assisting with daily activities (ADLs).
Follow all safety rules while on the job.
Reports errors and accidents promptly.
Communicates and corrects minor safety hazards.
Attends all required safety programs and understands responsibilities related to general, department, and job-specific safety.
May be required to facilitate groups and individuals in a Peer-Led manner and document accordingly.

Key Experience and Education Needed:
Required: High school diploma or GED.
CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification to be obtained.
Preferred: Certified Nursing Assistant certification
Required: Previous experience in a healthcare setting

May substitute experience for education

The MentalHealth Tech (MHT) participates in the delivery of patient care to the psychiatric patient in crisis, under the supervision of an RN. The MHT will assist in providing, monitoring, and maintaining a safe, therapeutic environment. Transports patients and remains with them for the duration of any tests performed Accompanies patients, and waits with them when appropriate, to their discharge transportation (personal vehicle, cab, etc.)

Wellspring's Crisis Stabilization Program:
The goal of Wellspring's Crisis Stabilization Program is to assist adults who are experiencing an acute psychiatric episode. With our 24/7 care, we help people avoid hospitalization, achieve stabilization, and recover from acute mentalhealth symptoms such as severe depression, mania, or psychosis. Clients receive intensive treatment, close monitoring with high levels of staff support, and medications prescribed by a psychiatrist, if necessary, in a homelike setting. The 16-bed program has two locations - the Samuel B. Todd Center and the David J. Block Center. Both are licensed, accredited crisis stabilization offering the only services of their kind in the Louisville Metro region.
Wellspring Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) MentalHealthTechnician (MHT) Summary:
MHTs are active members of the CSU multi-disciplinary treatment team, providing safety and support for the wellbeing of clients during their CSU stay. MHTs provide supportive counseling and crisis intervention with the advice and consultation of the clinical team. clients with their recovery through problem solving and life skills through individual and group sessions.
CSU MHT Duties & Responsibilities:
Completes intake protocols for all incoming clients including orientation and orientation checklist.
Supervises self-administration of client medication to ensure proper medication regimen, provide information about medications to clients as appropriate, and log medication activities in eMar.
Facilitates client social interactions.
Maintains knowledge of client status, whereabouts, appointments, and schedule.

Wellspring's Crisis Stabilization Program:
The goal of Wellspring's Crisis Stabilization Program is to assist adults who are experiencing an acute psychiatric episode. With our 24/7 care, we help people avoid hospitalization, achieve stabilization, and recover from acute mentalhealth symptoms such as severe depression, mania, or psychosis. Clients receive intensive treatment, close monitoring with high levels of staff support, and medications prescribed by a psychiatrist, if necessary, in a homelike setting. The 16-bed program has two locations - the Samuel B. Todd Center and the David J. Block Center. Both are licensed, accredited crisis stabilization offering the only services of their kind in the Louisville Metro region.
Wellspring Crisis Stabilization Unit (CSU) Peer Support Specialist Summary:
Peer Specialists are active members of the CSU multi-disciplinary treatment team, providing safety and support for the wellbeing of clients during their CSU stay. Peer Specialists provide supportive counseling and crisis intervention with the advice and consultation of the clinical team. Peer Specialists assist clients with their mentalhealth recovery through problem solving and life skills training via individual and group sessions. Peer Specialists complete electronic documentation of services during each shift worked.
Special Skills and Requirements:
The CSU Peer Specialist will identify as a mentalhealth consumer and must be willing to share their personal experience of mentalhealth recovery and support others in need. The CSU Peer Specialist will have a belief in recovery from mental illness and an enthusiasm for helping persons with disabilities, rooted in empathy and compassion, demonstrating a careful and caring attitude.
Candidates must be willing to share their personal experience of mentalhealth recovery and support others in need. The ideal candidate will have experience providing peer support services to clients experiencing serious mental illness and substance use disorders.

We are hiring a PRN/Part-Time MentalHealthTechnician for our growing team in our in-patient psychiatric hospital division! You will provide direct and indirect patient care throughout the client/patient's stay while providing for the personal care and comfort of clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Performs and records patient vital signs and notifies RN of any changes.
Continuously observes patients' behavior, mental status, and activities, and notifies RN of any changes or unusual occurrences.
Demonstrates the ability to identify behaviors that require intervention.
Escorts and observes clients during activities, meals, visitation, and groups.
Able to perform patient safety checks at scheduled times, and documents appropriately.
Demonstrates the ability to set limits for patients and other de-escalation techniques.
Orients patients to the facility.
Acts as a liaison to all areas of persons served/client care, medical staff, admission staff, nursing staff, and clinical staff.
Participates in treatment team meetings. Communicate appropriately and clearly.
Perform 15-minute observation rounds and documents appropriately.
Assists in the orientation of new staff members.
Assists with therapeutic educational groups in conjunction with the nursing and clinical team.
Responsible for one-on-one observation and constant visual observation of high-risk patients.
Responsible for assisting patients needing additional care related to medical needs.
Provides general nursing care, i.e., transferring patients and assisting with daily activities (ADLs).
Follow all safety rules while on the job.
Reports errors and accidents promptly.
Communicates and corrects minor safety hazards.
Attends all required safety programs and understands responsibilities related to general, department, and job-specific safety.
May be required to facilitate groups and individuals in a Peer-Led manner and document accordingly.
