We are hiring a PRN/Part-Time Mental Health Technician for our growing team in our in-patient psychiatric hospital division! You will provide direct and indirect patient care throughout the client/patient's stay while providing for the personal care and comfort of clients. Key Responsibilities: Performs and records patient vital signs and notifies RN of any changes. Continuously observes patients' behavior, mental status, and activities, and notifies RN of any changes or unusual occurrences. Demonstrates the ability to identify behaviors that require intervention. Escorts and observes clients during activities, meals, visitation, and groups. Able to perform patient safety checks at scheduled times, and documents appropriately. Demonstrates the ability to set limits for patients and other de-escalation techniques. Orients patients to the facility. Acts as a liaison to all areas of persons served/client care, medical staff, admission staff, nursing staff, and clinical staff. Participates in treatment team meetings. Communicate appropriately and clearly. Perform 15-minute observation rounds and documents appropriately. Assists in the orientation of new staff members. Assists with therapeutic educational groups in conjunction with the nursing and clinical team. Responsible for one-on-one observation and constant visual observation of high-risk patients. Responsible for assisting patients needing additional care related to medical needs. Provides general nursing care, i.e., transferring patients and assisting with daily activities (ADLs). Follow all safety rules while on the job. Reports errors and accidents promptly. Communicates and corrects minor safety hazards. Attends all required safety programs and understands responsibilities related to general, department, and job-specific safety. May be required to facilitate groups and individuals in a Peer-Led manner and document accordingly. The above is intended to be a general outline of job duties and not a complete list. Key Experience and Education Needed: Required: High school diploma or GED. CPR and hospital-selected de-escalation technique certification to be obtained. Organizational Growth/Resource Development Lead efforts to expand and diversify CRC's funding portfolio, including identifying and cultivating new funding sources to ensure long-term financial sustainability and mission impact. Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Position description: The successful candidate will be responsible for initial and follow-up Psychiatric consults in select assisted living and skilled nursing facilities. Daily patient encounters will be approximately between 11 to 16, depending on the mix of initial vs. follow-up services. Only light clinical documentation is required - just initial and follow-up progress notes. There is minimal bureaucracy or busy-work: no H&P's, no “discharge summaries”, no “treatment plans”, no “treatment team meetings” or “rounds”. We use streamlined, one page note templates which facilitate an efficient workflow. All of our clinicians perform the exact same duties, so together we have refined our processes to be as efficient and pleasant as possible. There are no hospital-based services, no admissions, no discharges, minimal administrative responsibilities beyond the described clinical documentation, and billing submission. Participation in our telephone-based on-call schedule will consist of about 1 weeknight in 7 and less than one weekend/month. Call is via phone only. There are no on-call rounds, no admissions (or admission orders), no discharges (or discharge orders). Phone calls during on-call shift are infrequent: during most on-call shifts, there are zero phone calls received. Daily work schedule is flexible, position affords much autonomy/independence - but at the same time, support and assistance is always available to you from our three psychiatrists and colleagues. Experience prescribing and monitoring psychotropic medications is very strongly preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate. PMHNP certification is required in Pennsylvania, and is ideal in NJ (but Family & Geriatric are acceptable in NJ).
