**Key Responsibilities:**
- Assist clients with personal care tasks including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.

- Help clients with mobility and transferring, using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Prepare and serve meals, assist with meal planning, and ensure dietary needs are met.

- Assist with errands and transportation to appointments or social activities as needed.
- Document and report any changes in clients' physical or emotional condition to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
- Collaborate with other caregivers, healthcare providers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care.
**Qualifications:**
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in caregiving or healthcare preferred.
- Previous experience as a caregiver, homehealthaide, or similar role is highly desirable.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with clients, families, and team members.
- Ability to lift and transfer clients safely, following established protocols.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping others.
- Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license may be required based on client needs.
- Must pass background checks and any required certifications.

The Care Giver's role includes providing hands on care and physical and emotional support to each resident while maintaining a safe and comfortable home like environment.
Responsibilities:
Maintaining cleanliness of resident's room and work areas
Helping residents maintain independence, promoting dignity and physical safety of each resident
Participating and assisting residents with activities of daily living (i.e. bathing, dressing, toileting, grooming, ambulation, transferring, eating) as instructed
Engaging residents in life skills and other life enrichment activities
Qualifications:

Under general supervision, the PCA will work as part of a team to ensure duties

Complete and submit ACCURATE person-centered documentation through
CareLogic. Documentation will reflect a person's choice, observations,
descriptions and quotes.
Provide person-centered community living support services at a minimum
frequency as described in the ISP; to include but not limited to assistance with
advocacy, adult daily living skills, bathing, dressing, education, personal
hygiene and home care skills such as bed making, laundry, shopping, paying bills
and medical appointments.
Escort and empower the individual to engage in Community Living to promote
true Community Integration and Inclusion in the larger natural community.
Practices should include the use of community resources that are available to
other citizens with disabilities.

Your Role If you love animals and want to make a hands-on difference in their lives every day, this could be the perfect fit. As an Animal Care Assistant at the Animal Rescue League of Iowa, you'll be a key part of the team that ensures every animal in our care is safe, healthy, and comfortable.
This position is essential to our daily operations and directly supports our mission of promoting animal welfare and finding loving homes for pets in need. This is more than just cleaning kennels - it's about providing enrichment, recognizing health and behavior needs, and ensuring our animals feel cared for and seen. You'll also support a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for adopters, volunteers, and staff alike.
What You'll Do
You'll be responsible for providing daily care and enrichment to animals, including feeding, walking, and interacting with them in ways that reduce stress and promote wellbeing. You'll maintain clean and sanitary living spaces by following daily cleaning protocols, including laundry and dishwashing duties.
As you care for the animals, you'll keep an eye out for any signs of illness or behavioral changes and communicate observations to the medical, behavior, or supervisory teams. You'll interact with the public and volunteers in a positive and educational manner, helping them feel informed and engaged with our mission.
You'll also ensure data is accurately entered into our shelter database system, Shelter Buddy, to help maintain up-to-date records. Facility cleaning and grounds maintenance will also be part of your responsibilities, as will operating and maintaining equipment safely. You may assist with training or guiding volunteers in alignment with department goals.
