Summary: This position independently performs requested ultrasound examinations, searching for any possible pathology as indicated by the patient's symptoms/medical history and/or results from previous testing. The position reviews and discusses the ultrasound findings with the radiologist and a diagnosis is made. Responsibilities And Duties: 60% Performs various ultrasound examinations. Subjectively interprets information based on judgmental decisions by Ultrasonographers, requiring in-depth knowledge of human anatomy, physiology and pathology. Maintains complete knowledge of wave form physics, i.e., , time gain compensation curves, attenuation factors, etc. , required to set equipment variable properly for appropriate imaging of specific anatomy. Assists Radiologists with performance of invasive procedures. 10% Independently evaluates normal vs. abnormal test results in correlation with patient history, previous examinations, lab results, etc. 10% Independently gives preliminary ultrasound results to attending physicians, surgeons, residents, etc. regarding any vascular ultrasound procedures as determined by site accreditation. 10% Teaches/educates imaging students, medical students and residents in basic scanning methods and instrumentation of ultrasound. 10% Maintains equipment and stocks supplies. Performs quality control procedures and maintains documentation. This is a large and busy Radiation Oncology department located in two locations within the hospital and requires a therapist to be on call for add on or urgent cases. Call is rotated on a weekly basis among the 11 therapists. The department consists of three Linear Accelerators and two CTs. They also provide High Dose Rate Brachytherapy in the department. Delivers radiation therapy treatments as prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist. Prepares patients for a course of Radiation Therapy inclusive of simulation, dose calculations and acquiring of treatment parameters. Summary: The Lead Radiation Therapist is the supervisor over the Radiation Therapy team at Riverside Methodist Hospital Radiation Oncology. They are responsible for maintaining adequate staff levels and making sure all the LINAC machines are well staffed. They maintain and prepare the daily schedule and the call schedule for our team. They partner with the providers and the nursing team to deliver high quality care to our patients and are the connecting link between the Radiation Therapy team and the department manager. They are responsible for addressing the immediate concerns of the radiation therapy team and escalating them when appropriate. They maintain a high quality of care by reviewing charts and making sure all the required parameters and hard stops are in place. They participate in the Quality Review Meetings and address any quality concerns with the Radiation Therapy team. Summary: This position operates imaging devices, computers, ECG units, laboratory equipment, dose calibrator and radiation survey instruments. Responsibilities And Duties: 55% Performs scintigraphic scanning as prescribed by physician. 25% Performs image manipulation and quantitative studies. Archives patient studies on computer and quality control studies. 5% Receives, stores, and prepares radioactive and non-radioactive materials in preparation of patient doses. Assures availability of proper doses for patients. 5% Performs quality control and maintenance procedures for scanning; maintains quality control and wipe survey statistics. Assures all equipment is performing properly to obtain quality examinations. 5% Consults with physicians; shows images and/or computer patient studies to radiologist and/or cardiologist. Provides physicians with quality data for interpretation. 3% Administers diagnostic or therapeutic radiopharmaceutical/ pharmaceuticals limited to those within the scope of practice, through various routes to patient, under the direction of a physician. 2% Demonstrates sensitivity to the physical and emotional needs of the patient through good communication. Provides appropriate patient education, patient assessment, patient monitoring and overall patient care. Assists physician with intricate imaging procedures as needed. Summary: Cath Lab Specific: The Cath Lab Radiologic Technologist must be competent as the assistant to the Interventional Cardiologist for diagnostic and interventional procedures in roles that include scrubbing, monitoring, and circulating. The technologist must have knowledge of the X-ray equipment in use, hemodynamic monitoring, coronary and peripheral anatomy, and sterile technique. The position assures the Mammography program meets all FDA Mammography Quality Standards Act and American College of Radiology requirements and standards. This position is part-time (24 hours/week) at the Delaware Medical Campus. Responsibilities And Duties: 75% Conducts Mammograms; Escorts patient to the room, completes proper documentation, and explains procedure to patient prior to mammogram procedure.
