This role blends interior space planning, move coordination, and facilities support - ideal for someone with a design mindset who excels at translating business needs into thoughtful, efficient workspace layouts. The ideal candidate brings strong AutoCAD skills, excellent communication, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment. You'll collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and leadership to ensure workspace solutions are functional, accurate, and aligned with organizational goals. Role Overview As a Workplace Space Planning Designer, you will support campus-wide space planning initiatives, coordinate weekly moves, and maintain accurate documentation for seating, utilization, and workplace standards. You'll work closely with hiring managers, IT, engineering, maintenance, vendors, and senior leadership to ensure spaces are optimized for productivity and employee experience. Key Responsibilities Lead space planning and weekly move coordination, including block planning and special requirements. Partner with senior management and cross-functional teams to develop workspace solutions. Create, review, and update drawings in AutoCAD; coordinate move orders and layouts with vendors and facilities teams. Collaborate with HR and hiring managers on new-hire seating and workspace requirements. Manage customer requests through the SAP Work Order system. Maintain accurate seating charts, space utilization records, and ARCHIBUS database updates. Conduct space audits and workplace utilization assessments as needed. Prepare furniture drawings, material tickets, and ensure ergonomic and furniture standards are followed. Support furniture inventory management, reuse planning, and updates. Coordinate with vendors for quotes and deliverables. Assist engineering and design teams with building improvements and minor construction or alteration projects. Contribute to special projects, subject matter expertise, and administrative tasks as assigned. Basic Qualifications Ability to read, interpret, and work confidently with construction drawings and layout plans. Experience coordinating vendors, contractors, and cross-functional teams. Knowledge of workplace strategy, change management, or facility planning concepts. Ability to stand or walk for extended periods during space assessments. Education & Experience BS in Interior Design or a related field preferred, OR 3+ years of experience in space planning, interior design, facilities planning, or a similar environment. Required Skills Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage shifting priorities. Excellent verbal and written communication skills; this role is highly customer-facing. Ability to space plan effectively; knowledge of architectural building codes is a plus. Experience with ARCHIBUS and SAP is a strong plus.
