We are looking for an experienced MaintenanceManager to lead maintenance operations in our fast-paced automotive manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance employees in the maintenance and installation of plant equipment, supporting the setup of production processes, and assisting in the coordination of plant maintenance objectives. Your leadership will be key to driving equipment reliability and production efficiency.
Specific Duties:
The MaintenanceManager executes assignments related to the plant maintenance functions, supervises the activities of skilled employees, and assures the accomplishment of the assigned tasks.
Maintenance of the plant's grounds, machinery and equipment; including preventive maintenance, planned and emergency maintenance.
Set up and maintain production's tooling and equipment.
Participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of plant performance.
Initiates, implements, and manages the plant maintenance program based on best practices in the Automotive industry, with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
Monitors the use and inventories of spare parts, maintenance supplies, and equipment and initiates reordering when necessary.
Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenancemanagement system (CMMS) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
Prepares reports, analyzes data, and makes recommendations for improving plant operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
Ensures that maintenance technicians are adequately trained, equipped, and motivated so that the maintenance program can be accomplished in a safe, timely, and cost-effective manner.
Maintains and updates operating and training manuals for the maintenance department.
Ensures that all maintenance technicians are trained on the most updated technology and operating procedures.
Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems constantly, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate solve problems in a timely manner, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
The MaintenanceManager plans the performance of preventative maintenance activities based upon personal knowledge and interval records of equipment wear and the manufacturer's recommendations regarding service. Schedules and coordinates the accomplishment of this work to minimize interference with production operations.
Develops and maintains key, preferred suppliers and spare part inventories. Schedules incoming materials for planned maintenance activities.
Schedules work to prevent idle time and to provide maximum machine utilization. Schedules overtime work among maintenance employees to equalize overtime fairly. Determines priority of maintenance job backlog and schedules work accomplished. Schedules vacations in such a manner to not interfere with necessary maintenance.
Responsible for upgrading the effectiveness of maintenance personnel.
Schedules and conducts meetings with instructions relating to maintenance skills, safety, and Company Policy.
Handles all job-related problems in maintenance honestly and fairly without violation of Company Policies or Procedures.
Performs other duties deemed necessary by the Engineering Manager.
Education & Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in maintenance or manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of education and hands-on experience.
At least 3 years of Management or leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and tooling systems.
Ability to read and interpret mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical schematics and blueprints.
Proven expertise in electrical and electronic systems, particularly in the programming and application of PC/PLC controls.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to lead, supervise, and motivate teams in a collaborative environment

Initiate and maintain a rigid preventive maintenance program on all equipment and building functions based on manufacturer's recommendations. Preventive maintenance records shall be kept in categories of required time plans between checks: daily, weekly, bimonthly, semi-annually, and annually.
Determine and maintain sufficient inventory of spare parts to insure minimum interruption to machinery and plant operation.
Keep records of barrel and screw usage and identify problem areas on the records.
Check dimensions and quality on all incoming screws and barrels.
Maintain updated records of screw and barrel wear by machine.

Communication Skills:
Attend monthly QOS meetings with Manufacturing Manager.
Work with Plant Manager/Manufacturing Manager to schedule work to be done by maintenance crews on work days not scheduled for production.
Be responsible for all building maintenance. All work to be done by outside sources is to have the Plant Manager's approval to authorize the work to be done.
Perform electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic modifications on tools when required.
When work load demands or during slow periods, and upon instructions from the Manufacturing Manager perform the duties of any position qualified for.

Working Conditions

Exposure to various weather conditions when working with outdoor equipment.

* Ensure service requests are completed within 24 hours, with care and attention to detail.
* Proactively handle preventive maintenance to avoid surprises and costly repairs.

* Maintain inventory, track expenses, and stay ahead of maintenance needs.
* Rotate on-call duties and assist with weekend/holiday coverage as needed.
