Participates in training and retraining of Pre-service authorization Specialist(s). Develop training manuals, written desk procedures, and written procedures to support policies for pre-service authorizations. Assists with the development and implementation of systems and processes to improve patient flow and quality of patient services. Perform all assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures of AH, as well as regulations and organizations including but not limited to HIPAA, CMS, TJC, AOA and EMTALA. Educational Requirements/ Qualifications: Knowledge of medical and procedural terminology required, as well as a minimum of two years of past experience in a healthcare professional office or health care facility environment. Meditech Magic experience preferred. Candidate must possess strong computer keyboarding skills. Computer experience and ability required with MS Office software. Candidate must possess effective communication skills and customer service commitment. Telephone hardware and etiquette skills required. Professional appearance is required to support maintain good public relations with daily contacts. The ability to effectively multi-task is key.
