Demonstrated experience in teaching at the college or university level, or in a comparable professional education setting. Experience as a primary instructor in Exercise Science or related coursework at the undergraduate or graduate level preferred.     Working/Functional Title Assistant/Associate Professor Tenure System The faculty of the Department of Translational Neuroscience seek a motivated neuroscientist with a track record of scholarship in age-related neurodegenerative disease. While Translational Neuroscience hopes to enhance its faculty scholarship in Parkinson's disease (PD) and other synucleinopathies, discipline experts in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias or beyond are also encouraged to apply. Currently, Translational Neuroscience consists of fifteen faculty with particularly strong foci in Parkinson's disease and other synucleinopathies and Alzheimer's disease and other tauopathies. Labs employ model systems ranging from cell, to invertebrate, to rodent models. Areas of investigation for the Parkinson's team's span alpha-synuclein biology, neuroinflammation, levodopa-induced dyskinesias, deep brain stimulation, environmental exposure, and aging contributors to degeneration. The Alzheimer's team's expertise spans tau and amyloid biology, neuroinflammation, transcriptomic and proteomics, cell and animal model development, disease biomarkers and novel therapeutics. ABVI is a not-for-profit, 501c3 organization. Founded over a hundred years ago, we work with individuals struggling with their loss of sight, to help them adjust to their new reality. Through our low-vision clinic we evaluate the extent of vision loss and then provide services to help our clients reach their goals. Whether it be assistive technology to improve the ability to carry out daily activities, or in-home rehabilitation to help with daily living skills, or one-on-one supportive counseling to help with feelings of isolation, anxiety and depression or peer support groups to provide encouragement, education and friendships, our specialists will help our clients build a plan that will help them become more independent and live their lives with confidence and dignity. While Translational Neuroscience hopes to enhance its faculty scholarship in Parkinson's disease (PD) and other synucleinopathies, discipline experts in Alzheimer's disease and related dementias or beyond are also encouraged to apply. Currently, Translational Neuroscience consists of fifteen faculty with particularly strong foci in Parkinson's disease and other synucleinopathies and Alzheimer's disease and other tauopathies. Labs employ model systems ranging from cell, to invertebrate, to rodent models. Areas of investigation for the Parkinson's team's span alpha-synuclein biology, neuroinflammation, levodopa-induced dyskinesias, deep brain stimulation, environmental exposure, and aging contributors to degeneration. The Alzheimer's team's expertise spans tau and amyloid biology, neuroinflammation, transcriptomic and proteomics, cell and animal model development, disease biomarkers and novel therapeutics.
