Required Qualifications:
Earned doctorate in sustainable management, environmental management, management, or closely related field from an AACSB accredited institution. Candidates who have not completed their doctorate by the start date will be hired into a terminal appointment at the rank of Instructor with a rate determined at the time of hire. Upon degree conferral, the title will change to Assistant Professor. The contract will not be renewed if the degree is not conferred by the end of the terminal appointment.
Ongoing record of scholarship, including peer-reviewed journal publications, consistent with the level of experience.
Ability to teach a variety of foundational business courses.
Evidence of a commitment to quality teaching.
Evidence of engagement in institutional, community, and professional endeavors.
Conditions of Appointment:
Cofrin School of Business courses are offered primarily during standard business hours, with limited courses offered in the evening or on Saturdays.
The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may occasionally be required to teach a course or work at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus, based on operational needs.
Position is an academic year, tenure-track appointment. Applicants must be considered for tenure and promotion in six years, although tenure decisions may be at any time. Promotion from Assistant to Associate Professor is simultaneous with tenure. Excellence in teaching, sustained scholarly activity, and institutional service required for retention and promotion. Minimum of at least 4,000 hours occupational experience in a target job for the program being taught within the last five years.
Five or more years of experience in Wildland, Prescribed fire or combination of both required.
Must meet NWCG Instructor Qualifications as a Lead or Unit Instructor, dependent on the class offered, i.e. minimum FF1 qualified as a unit instructor for S130/S190/L180 is required.
Teaching or training experience is preferred.
Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of relevant curriculum.
Upon hire, must maintain Faculty Quality Assurance System requirements and licensure required by other agencies to maintain individual and program accreditation, if applicable

Plan, develop, and implement appropriate instructional strategies, including alternative delivery strategies when appropriate.
Assist and advise students who have problems with assignments, tests, grades, course content, career concerns, and other academic matters.
Research, develop, and administer skills assessments before, during and after courses and services with an emphasis on evaluating student performance in courses taught by the instructor.
Promote student success through timely communication, growth-based feedback, and implementation of strategies that meet the needs of diverse learners.
Comply with college policies and directions regarding student testing record keeping, advanced standing, providing grades on a timely basis, maintaining office hours for student assistance and counseling, etc.
Meet professional expectations by maintaining professional currency and contributing to a collaborative culture across the College.
Attend division, department, and advisory committee meetings as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in a related field required.
Minimum of two years of occupational experience in a target job for the program or programs being taught, of which at least one year shall be within five years prior to date of hire. One year of recent related occupational experience may be waived if the instructor has at least two years of post−secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within five years prior to date of hire.

Team Participation - Support the college by engaging in division, department and team activities, and meetings including planning, development, and budgeting, and staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives.
Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners by participating in advisory committees, external meetings, business visits, and community groups Collaborate with staff to recruit students, participate in recruitment events, and proactively promote the College and our programs.
Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and engage in activities that help students reach their goals by collaborating with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful. Advise students regarding class schedules, career information, internships, and other program-related information.
Professional Development - Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices, and teaching through professional development activities, networking with regional industry leaders, and the integration of new techniques and technology.
Minimum QualificationsEducation and/or Experience Requirements:
Associate Degree required (Bachelor's degree preferred).
Five years of occupational experience in the relevant field of instruction, with at least one year of experience within the past five years. (One year of the occupational experience requirement may be waived if the individual has at least two years of post-secondary teaching experience in the appropriate occupational field within the last five years.)

Valid Driver's License.

State of Wisconsin Firefighter I certification.
Airport Firefighter and Driver/Operator ARFF Certification.

* Teaching or training experience is preferred.
* Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of relevant curriculum.

If teaching in our Law Enforcement or Jail Recruit Academies, applicants must have at a minimum completed the Department of Justice's Instructor Development course, and possess the proper certifications from the Department of Justice for the Academy topics being taught.
Teaching or training experience is desirable.
Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of relevant curriculum.

Summary

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The following duties are primarily performed and are essential for this position. Employees are expected to be able to perform each of these job duties satisfactorily and successfully to be qualified for the position. Other duties may be required and assigned.
* Learning Facilitation - Foster student learning by developing appropriate instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs and support student engagement. Employ learning experiences that integrate multiple delivery methodologies and instructional technologies to maximize student success, such as hybrid, in-person, virtual, and on-line course delivery.
* Assessment - Assess student learning and provide regular feedback to help students be successful. Use data to measure quality outcomes related to course success and learning and implement improvement strategies based on the evidence.
* Classroom Management - Fulfill assigned schedule, maintain accurate student attendance and grade records, maintain instructional environment with emphasis on safety, housekeeping, and equipment security, and ensure opportunities for student/engagement evaluation.
* Team Participation - Support the college by engaging with the department, as well as staying current with internal and external changes and initiatives.
* Business & Community Engagement - Build and maintain ongoing relationships with community, industry, and clinical partners. Proactively promote the College and our programs.
* Student Success & Support - Serve as an advocate for students and collaborate with Student Services staff to retain students, close achievement gaps, and help all students be successful.
* Professional Development - Continually improve knowledge and skills in emerging trends, current occupational practices and teaching through professional development activities, and current employment in the field. Maintain instructor certification from Department of Transportation required for individual certification.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and/or Experience Requirements:
* Bachelor's Degree in related and appropriate field. (Based on experience and expertise, an individual with an Associate Degree may be considered), AND
* Current certification by the ********************************************************** as a General Traffic Safety, Group Dynamics, and Multiple Offender instructor.
* Ability to work effectively in a team based, quality environment.
* Preparation in educational principles, teaching, curriculum development or guidance and counseling preferred.
* Teaching or training experience is desirable.
* Ability to plan, organize, instruct, and facilitate quality education programs, including development of relevant curriculum.
* Proficiency utilizing learning management system.
* Strong verbal communication skills.
* Adapt quickly to changing demands, assignments, and circumstances to meet student needs.
* Communicate effectively and professionally with various audiences.
* Engage in continuous improvement in the quality of instruction by embracing innovative methodologies, techniques, and delivery methods.
* Prior to hire, a background check including criminal record history will be conducted. Information from the background check will not necessarily preclude employment but will be considered in determining the applicant's suitability and competence to perform in the position.
Licenses, Certifications, and Other Requirements:
Traffic Safety Program Instructor Qualifications
To be certified, a group dynamics traffic safety instructor shall meet at least 2 of the following 3 subsections, including sub. (1) (a), (2) (a) or (3) (a) from at least one subsection, at the time of application. An individual who does not meet a requirement specified in sub. (1) will be required to monitor a general traffic safety course:
1. Traffic safety experience equal to one of the following:
* (a) Two years of occupational experience, or a comparable amount of experience and education in the area of traffic safety or a related field, such as driver education, law enforcement, fleet safety management, or experience in a safety related position with the division of motor vehicles.
* (b) Monitor the WTC general traffic safety course plus have completed a one semester, or 45 hour, traffic safety studies or accident prevention course.
2. AODA experience equal to one of the following:
* (a) Two years of occupational experience or a comparable amount of experience and education in the area of AODA counseling, education, or treatment or related fields, such as student assistance program director or employee assistance program director.
* (b) Completed a minimum of 45 hours in an accredited college level course in the area of AODA education or treatment.
3. Group process experience equal to one of the following:
* (a) Two years occupational experience in group process work or group counseling as a treatment or education professional.
* (b) Completed a minimum of 45 hours in an accredited college level course in the area of group work methods, group counseling or group process.
Traffic Safety School Instructor Qualifications
To be certified, a traffic safety instructor shall have a minimum of traffic safety experience equal to one of the following:
1. Two years of occupational experience, or a comparable amount of experience and education in the area of traffic safety or related field, such as driver education, law enforcement, fleet safety management, or experience in a safety related position with the division of motor vehicles.
2. Monitor the WTC general traffic safety course plus have completed a one semester, or 45-hour, traffic safety studies or accident prevention course.
Upon hire, must meet and maintain Higher Learning Commission (HLC) requirements, and/or other job specific licensing standards.
In evaluating candidates for this position, Fox Valley Technical College may consider a combination of education, training, and experience which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of this position.
Physical Requirements
* Mobility: The ability to move around the classroom or instructional space, including walking between students' desks or workstations.
* Standing and Sitting: The capability to stand for extended periods during lectures or demonstrations, as well as the ability to sit for grading, and administrative tasks.
* Speech and Hearing: Clear speech and the ability to hear students' questions and interactions are essential for effective instruction.
* Fine Motor Skills: Instructors may need precise hand movements or manual dexterity for activities such as writing on a whiteboard, demonstrating experiments, or using instructional technology like computers.
* Visual Acuity: Adequate vision to read course materials, assess student work, and operate instructional equipment.
* Health and Safety: Instructors should be capable of ensuring a safe learning environment, which may involve understanding and adhering to safety protocols, responding to emergencies, and addressing any physical hazards in the instructional space.
* Hold a valid motor vehicle operator's license from the Department of Motor Vehicles.Have a satisfactory driving record
* Participate in all mandatory department and school workshops and in-service training activities.
* Repetitive Motions: Capacity to perform repetitive motions, such as typing, without discomfort or injury.
* Communication: Clear verbal and written communication skills are essential for interacting with employees, candidates, and stakeholders, both in-person and through electronic means.
Work Environment
* Work is typically performed in a classroom.
* Work must be completed in person.
Work environment may change based upon college needs.

Additional Information
Hourly pay rate: $45.00 per hour.
Pay is based on a multitude of factors, including experience, qualifications, education, relevant certifications, internal equity, and market data.

Adjunct instructors are hired on a per-course basis. The total hours for an adjunct instructor range from approximately 3 hours per week to no more than 8 hours per week. Hours vary and can include both day, evening, and weekend classes. Courses are taught in traditional classrooms and alternative delivery formats.
