Course Description:
MTH-130: Introduction to Statistics: Topics include descriptive statistics, measures of central tendency and dispersion, probability rules and probability distributions, the central limit theorem and simple hypothesis testing. Application to real-world problems is stressed throughout the course. Offered every semester. This course fulfills the Core Mathematics requirement.
Introduction to Statistics is a 3-credit course. Each section meets for lecture for 2.5 hours/week. The adjunct pay rate is $3,300 per section. Adjunct faculty are expected to hold one office hour each week for each section they teach. The program provides a course charter with course objectives as well as sample syllabi. Massachusetts SEI Endorsement
Experience teaching Multilingual Learners in MA K-12 public schools
Demonstrated knowledge of DESE SEI Endorsement requirements and WIDA ELD Standards
Experience supporting adult learners or novice teachers
Ability to teach in online formats

$16,000 stipend for a 1-year appointment September 2026 - June 2027
