In this position, you will have the opportunity to work one-on-one with students, lead college prep math classes, and provide coaching to help them navigate their math pathway. Essential Functions: Direct Student Support • Provide instructional support to students during assigned timeslots in the semester schedule. Section Instructor • Responsible for leading a College Prep math class section. • Deliver lectures for a scheduled amount of time based on the class. • Provide assigned students with timely and meaningful feedback on their weekly progress. • Stay available to assigned students via e-mail. • Meet institutional deadlines. Math Coach • Meet with students after their Placement Test or by appointment. • Develop a math pathway for each student. • Familiarize yourself with the various degree programs at CWI. • Support and motivate students throughout their math journey. Minimum Qualifications: Master's degree in a relevant field of study OR Bachelor's degree in Math or Math Education and at least 3 years of experience teaching either junior/high school or community college level math courses OR Bachelor's degree in education with a math or science emphasis OR Bachelor's degree in a math-heavy discipline and at least 5 years of experience teaching/tutoring either high school or community college-level math courses Strong skills in mathematics Experience using Excel, Windows, and other computer programs. Experience using instructional technology to aid in course delivery. Minimum Qualifications: • Master's degree in a related field of study, with a minimum of 12 graduate credits in the discipline. • Experience teaching secondary-level students in the field of study. • Ability to adapt to a variety of teaching methodologies including lectures, group activities, individual instruction, distance learning, and teaching with technology. • Ability to demonstrate commitment to professional growth and development. • Proficiency in usage of internet, email, word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software applications. • Experience using instructional technology to aid in course delivery • Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff • MS/MA in Biology or related field, from a regionally accredited institution, preferred • Three years' experience teaching field of study at the post-secondary level, preferred • Successful experience teaching at a community college or with adult learners preferred • Experience using instructional technology preferred Additional Instructions for Applicants: *This position is for labs on Saturdays **Successful candidates are required to reside in Idaho by the first day of work for the College of Western Idaho.
